BEACH DRESS VERSUS CITY STYLE
The Summer Dress You Don’t Have To Think About Styling
There’s something about the heat of summer that makes me that little bit lazy and lethargic, I just want loose, airy and light clothing that I can throw on with little effort or consideration. Clothes I can lounge out in the sunshine in, without getting all hot and sticky and uncomfortable, clothes that don’t require lots of styling or accessorizing to just work. Ultimately it’s that beach dress vibe for London life I seek.
Linen fabrics designed with 1980’s tortoiseshell coloured buttons are a big favorite of mine right now, the high street is swarming with dresses ticking these boxes, and despite my vows to remove myself from fast fashion spending sprees, I couldn’t resist this burnt orange summer dress from Zara when I spotted it in store a few weekends ago. It was clearly popular as there were no sizes available that fitted me, but I loved it so much I decided the super over-sized fit available could be workable …
SHOP THE STYLE
I’ve been living in this dress since I picked it up, it’s the ideal sunny weekend number and I even took it on my work trip to Amsterdam and styled it with a leather jacket to make it a little less casual. Despite the fact it’s uber large, I think it actually works given the style of the dress and material. I’m actually eyeing up a few more linen pieces and bought this dress the other day which I’m certain will become yet another staple.
How are you coping from a style point of view in this glorious sunshine?
