One of my favourite things about blogging is coming across or being introduced to new brands or websites offering you the most incredible collections that you otherwise just wouldn’t have known about. In my almost 1 year of blogging (I cannot believe how quickly time has flown), i’ve found and fallen in love with many a new ‘discovery’ brand, but i’ve recently come across one that I MUST share with you all – farfetch.comDespite their being competitor brands in the market place, offering on the surface somewhat of a similar sartorial experience, Farfetch, to me, has ‘something’ which others just don’t; a) Mr & Mrs combined in 1 website, b) a vaster array of designers available and c) it breaks the realms of ordinary. By that I mean, don’t just expect to find your ‘standard’ designer bags, frocks and shades on here, you’ll find a whole lot more including a ton of incredible brands which you may just have had the misfortune of not knowing about before.
Yes, farfetch has become a new secret little escape for me. Dangerous, indeed . . .
Now it may be as a result of my extreme ‘ holiday mood’ of late, but I’ve been spending numerous hours browsing through the enormous variety of designer sunglasses available on farfetch.com, and it got me to thinking about my boyfriend. Constantly I treat myself to little presents, whether it be my new Mulberry, Mac Book or even my weekly high street shopping trips, i’m always ‘accidentally’ buying myself something. Now i’m not going to say I should be spending all my money on my boyrfriend (Jase, if you’re reading this – SORRY), but browsing on farfetch with it’s male and female quarters has got me thinking about Birthday & Christmas presents for Jase.
He’s been after a pair of Wayfarer’s for god knows how long, but has just never got round to purchasing a pair. After hunting these down on Farfetch, it dawned on me actually how many other cool brands of sunnies there are out there now, for boys and girls. So I decided to compile a list of my top 9 (it looked prettier than 10) with the ambition that I may treat my boy to a pair for Christmas (appreciate it’s an illogical time of year, but beggars can’t be choosers).
My favourites gravitated to Tom Ford, RayBan, Persol & Shwood – all of these brands are very established in the sunnies arena, and it’s no suprise why. I love the classic styles that Ray Bans offer & the original colour themes / prints that Tom Ford incorporates into his designs, and you can’t not credit Shwood for the ultimate in modern material use – the wooden shades. I actually did a blog post on Shwood back when I started my blog and I still love the uniqueness of their designs to this day.
But I think right now, my top pick has to go with Tom Fords Tortoiseshell aviators – I’m a huge fan of tortoiseshell & these shades are a great mix of classic shape and current print trends. Do you agree?
SO there you go – I dragged myself away from the heaven of the women’s section (somehow) and have gathered myself a few ideas for boyfriend presents in the process :) Although don’t fear – I have my own little wish list in the pipeline too (Hello designer totes & killer heels).
Which of the sunglasses are your favourite pick? Have you been on farfetch.com before, what do you think of the website & the amazing brands they have available?
