I’ve mentioned before about rummaging through my wardrobe to source my golden oldies out. I hate to admit it, but I do have a ludicrous amount of clothes, old and new, and I do find it hard to remember to wear ‘old’ clothes. Over the last few weeks I’ve rearranged my bursting wardrobe a little, including having to get another clothes rail out to house half my clobber. It’s become extreme. Anyway, in doing so, I’ve uncovered some of my fave dresses from the last two summers & decided to make a real effort to keep my wardrobe on rotation.
I absolutely loved this dress when I bought it from River Island (I think about 2 years ago), it’s a light denim shift dress with a cute little peter pan collar and I’m certain I bought it heavily discounted in the sale too. Ironically this dress sports features that are massively on trend right now – collar, shift, denim, acid wash. Oh how trends recycle.

Anyway, when the sun was shining last week, I was in need of a comfy shift dress, but couldn’t keep wearing the same things over and over, so after uncovering this, I was pleased to know I loved it equally as much as I did when I bought it, perhaps even more. I wore it really simply, with just some Marni heels & my Mulberry bag. I absolutely should have ironed my dress, but i’m not one for ironing, so I just rocked the creases.
I came home to two amazing packages last night so I can’t wait to feature them on my blog to show you them. If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen it (follow – mediamarmalade). I also ordered my clothes with my prize funds from winning the Style Compare competition so I cannot wait to show you theses too, I opted for classics in the end (I was having a panic about how many clothes I own), so opted for a smart Topshop black blazer, grey peplum & a cute RI midi dress.
What do you think of this old dress I dug out? Are you good at keeping your wardrobe on rotation, or are you like me and get stuck into wearing ‘new things’ only?
