THE SHIRT & STYLING SHIRTS
The Shirt. Something we all have in our wardrobes, something we all should have in our wardrobes, and an item so versatile, gender neutral, and classic that the styling opportunities are endless. Who knew people would create shirts where shoulders tie over your shoulder? Endless see?
For me, the shirt has been an integral part of my style since my teenage days, where a Jack Wills checked shirt was always on my shoulders, but as I’ve got older, my style has evolved and in turn so has my sartorial shirt choices. These days I like them oversized, boyfriend, crips & monotone.
. WAREHOUSE DENIM SHIRT . TOPSHOP SUEDE SKIRT (NEW SEASON) . REISS FUR GILET . RUSSELL & BROMLEY LOAFERS .
You’ll find my shirt choices these days are crisp and white or laid back and denim, and todays ensemble features the latter. Styled in my a-typical way, with an A line suede skirt, classic loafers & in this instance the ultimate in outerwear, my Reiss fur gilet. For me, the shirt is best styled in juxtaposition or contrast, for example an oversized crisp white shirt with a pair of loose fitting mom or straight jeans (stilettos for an evening, converse for day), or for a slightly more formal occasion, with a chic mini & a pair of good leather loafers.
How do you style the classic shirt? And has your sartorial choices evolved much like mine?
