. DESIGNER WISHLIST .
Bags are a real passion point of mine, i’ve been obsessed with them since I was a toddler (my mum used to call me the bag lady as I’d toddle around collecting all the bags in my sight up), this obsession hasn’t seized but instead blossomed. Bags are a passion of mine and something I’ve actually begun collecting (i like to call it a collection as it helps justify the sheer volume of and money spent on my bags) for the last 6 – 8 years. Prior to my 19th birthday my bag collection consisted mainly of affordable high street bags, my only designer piece was a faux Chloe bag which my friend picked me up in Thailand when I was 17 (she new how much I loved Chloe). My first designer hand bag was in fact a gift, from my dad, and was this cute tan leather mulberry shoulder bag, an item which despite being 7 years old, still to this day is one of my favourites.
Thats the thing with designer bags, expensive as they may be, they’re classics & they’re quality. That means that each one is an investment, a collectable that if well looked after will only grow in value & appeal. Vintage bags are the new thang and being handed down a vintage Chanel (or any other designer piece) from a relative is just the dream … so that’s how I justify my collection of expensive bags. One day i’ll pass them down and share my collection of beautiful pieces.
. YSL Sac De Jour . Phillip Lim 3.1 Pashley . YSL Monogramme Tassel Bag . Chanel Boy Bag . Chanel Timeless Bag .
Whether it’s a psychological trick to justify my handbag hedonism and conspicuous consumption or not … i love hand bags and I work bloody hard, so treating myself to a new little number is something I like to do every now and then (I’ve treated myself to a few after promotions at work). My collection to date largely features Mulberry as it’s a brand I grew up admiring and one who’s collections season on season I fell in love with. I think I’ve invested in 5 or 6 Mulberry items now (My shoulder bag above, The Emmy, The Bayswater, The Holly & a cute pink Mulberry clutch too), but there’s always been one bag I’ve wanted and a bag that I hope to soon invest in. The Chanel Timeless.
It’s a bag thats so classic it’s chic beyond belief, sophisticated and stunning in design and a bag that 60 years later is still well adored and lusted after. An investment piece to say the least. Since I first started wanting the bag it’s gone from c. £1.5k new to c.£3.5k new … a sign of it’s established appeal. Whilst now a days I love the Chanel Boy bag in equal measures, the timeless / 2.5 is the one i’ve always dreamed of, and hope one day soon to finally take the leap and bay.
But whist I talk myself into diverting my house deposit savings onto a Chanel bag, i’m also collating a wish list of slightly more affordable designer bags which are all currently grappling to be my next purchase. The Phillip Lim 3.1 Pashley Satchel, the YSL Classic Monogram bag and the YSL Sac De Jour are all competing to join my collection.
Which would you pick?

Designer bags are such a great investment, and low price per wear when you think how much you use them! (at least that’s what I told myself when I splurged on the Mulberry Cecily Bag!)
Love your collection { also typo; your friend ‘knew’ you loved Chloe bags, not ‘new’ :) }

It’s obviously a sign of worthy investment – if your money can double when put into a Chanel, it’s far better to buy one of those babies than leave your pounds to stagnate in a savings account. I don’t think the Bank of England can offer interest rates like those! xxx
