I think it’s probably fair to say that Winter is storm trooping his way into our lives right now. Gone are pumps and leather jackets and instead winter coats and ‘practical’ boots are out to play (let’s not kid ourselves, they’re not practical in the least). Whilst I love the summer and all that comes with it, I also do love Autumn and Winter too. Being a country girl (I’m from Winchester in Hampshire), I think England comes to life in Winter – cosy fires, snow covered fields, country pubs with mulled wine and cider in full flow and not to mention beautiful decorations draped over our little villages building excitement and festivities in the run up to Christmas.

Whilst we are limited as to what we can wear in the winter months, I do love my winter wardrobe which is adorned with cosy knits and pretty thick socks. Exciting or not, a great pair of jeans styled with a staple winter jumper and some cute ankle boots is a favourite look of mine when the weather drops. 

There’s only so far jeans and jumpers can go to excite us though, so it’s coats where the fun begins for me. With a collection bordering on 20+ coats (yes, it’s insane and concerning), it’s clear that for me, coats are where the winter fun is at. Gone are the days when coats were a solely practical garment, these days the high street has an incredible offering of different styles, materials and shapes suitable for any occasion. They’re no longer a ‘boring’ item, covering up your outfit, these days the coat IS the outfit. And i’m all for it.

This little Boden number is one of my favourites this season, i’ve featured it on my blog a couple of times already (because i’m wearing it so much) and love how it adds a country chic vibe to my look.
