HOW TO KEEP LEOPARD PRINT CLASSY
Styling The Must Have Leopard Print Silk Slip Skirt
There’s nothing more ‘in’ right now than silk slip skirts & leopard print, so it’s no surprise that the two combined broke the internet this year. Well not quite, but there’s not a website, fashion store or instagram page in town that hasn’t featured the look, and the popular ‘it’ skirt from Realisation Par certainly almost broke their site a number of times as a result of the demand.
I’m not one to follow trends per c’est, but you all know how much I love a midi skirt at the best of times and i’ve never been afraid of a bold print or colour tone in my wardrobe, so when I saw this AOS leopard print midi skirt in stock a few weeks back I didn’t hesitate to order it (and in the classic black too).
Actually it’s now one of my favourite midi skirts as a result of the tailored cut and unique zip situation that helps the skirt sit at the perfect point of your waist and hang smoothly over your hips (it sort of sits diagonally across the back). The skirt is so versatile and perfect for the party season teamed with heeled boots & a fitted roll neck (a metallic knit would really give it some punch), for casual weekends worn with trainers & your favourite tee or slogan sweater, and equally smart for work, dinner dates or evenings out with your friends with a quality cashmere and your best boyfriend blazer … a la todays ensemble.

Much like Burberrys resurrection, Leopard print has safely transitioned from cheap and chavy to sophisticated and chic in the last few years, but as with anything it’s in the styling (and quality of the material) to keep it looking on the right end of the spectrum.
For me this means styling the print with understated colour tones (black, navy, nude etc), good quality materials (cashmere or merino wool knits, 100% cotton tees etc – i’m loving Arket for good quality basics right now, i’m wearing a cashmere jumper from there in this look) and I always recommend finishing with your best accessories (a quality shoe & bag always completes a look).
I’m thinking of sporting this skirt on New Years eve this year too, teaming it with a dark navy slogan tee (or even a fitted merino wool roll neck), a heeled boot & a nice red lip, the perfect take on smart / casual for a low key family house party, and still keeps the leopard classy without the much more formal styling.

I find it super hard to wear leopard – it’s always so OTT, I feel! But I love the way you’ve dressed it down with black! ❤️❤️
