OUR STAY: The Millennium Hotel, Gloucester Road
This weekend Jase and I spent the night in Chelsea, despite living only 10 minutes away we decided to have a little treat weekend and so we spent the night in the lovely Millennium Hotel on Gloucester Road and decided to make a real weekend of it by booking a lovely dinner and spending the day strolling round the local shops.
The hotel was a lovely touch as it made the weekend feel like a mini holiday, we had a great room which had been stocked up with lots of fresh fruit for us and had a huge kingsize bed. We were greeted by the hotel Manager and taken to our room, we even had access to the Millennium lounge which was great for grabbing a coffee and something to eat. The hotel itself is in such a prime location (2 mins from Hyde Park / Natural History Museum / Chelsea etc) that it made a great base for our mini break.
We spent the day strolling around Chelsea and the local area and popped into a few shops (where I naturally spent a fortune). We stopped for a late burnch in the VQ cafe off the Fulham Road. I’d heard of this cafe through friends and loved the idea of a 24hour brunch … it was really good so i’ll definitely be returning.
DINNER: The Bluebird Chelsea
For dinner and some pre dinner cocktails we headed to the Bluebird in Chelsea, i’d been here once before with my Dad about 10 years ago, so I was looking forward to heading back. We had an amazing evening spent drinking gin cocktails, eating fresh crab and scallops and indulging in some amazing pan fried duck for me. After dinner we strolled back through Chelsea to our hotel, for a cosy night away from home.
Have you ever stayed in a Millennium Hotel? Are you a fan of a local weekend break? What have you done this weekend?
