As you know I recently went away to Egypt for some winter sun (see this post), and after sharing some of my holiday pics with you all I got quite a few comments about my swimwear so thought I’d share where my bikinis were from, but also share a few of my fave places to buy swimwear too.
The bikini top in the picture above is actually a Figleaves number I got over a year ago and a real favourite of mine as not only is it a cute bold print, it’s also made to fit your bra size so actually fits me properly. It’s probably worth saying I’m an awkward size; I take a 30E on top and an 8 / S on the bottom, so this combo is hard to buy unless you go to a brand that makes ‘proper’ sizes. This is where my love for Figleaves comes in, if you are like me and have big boobs (in relative terms) then Figleaves are a real treasure as they offer modern styles and prints, but most importantly their collection is made to accommodate any shape or size.
I have the matching bikini bottoms to my Figleaves bikini top, but actually prefer to mix and match my bikinis and so the bottoms above are in fact a pair from H&M. Now, H&M’s new SS13 swimwear range is pretty awesome too (well worth checking out) they always embrace amazing colours and prints and offer a fab collection of very on trend styles & designs. The only issue I have with H&M bikini’s is that they don’t accommodate women with boobs, so I tend to buy their bottoms and steer clear of the tops. Handily, they sell their items as separates making them the perfect company for mixing your bikinis up.
Another bikini wear brand I am currently coveting, due to a mixture of their sizes available and the funky prints is Bonprix, I only recently discovered this brand but have been impressed with their range and am going to order their striped nautical style bikini (see below) for my summer hols too. They have a few really lovely prints available but this striped bikini is my ultimate favourite from their collection. I also always find Accessorize a great stop for a bikini as they always have a gorgeous selection of bikini’s at a really reasonable price … perfect for a last minute airport dash if you’re not quite as organised as some.
If you’re a slightly ‘easier’ size to buy for then Topshop and Asos also have some amazing bikini’s with some really cool colour tones and also some unique styles – the high waisted bikini is looking to be a popular one this summer and Topshop have a couple of cute sets in their new range. I find these brands bikini’s really difficult to buy though as they never fit my shape which is a shame as I love the designs.
Above are a few of my fave bikini’s on the market at the moment. I’m also lusting after a neon bikini, maybe a neon orange or an electric blue. I think they look great against a tan and really spice up your beachwear a tad. Let me know if you come across any?
What do you think of my bikini picks? What swimwear are you going to be rocking this year, will you be braving the high waist trend?

That ASOS one is pretty, I have a Sunseeker swimsuit which is lovely so I know the range is great, but I don’t think I’ll ever be happy enough with my shape to wear a bikini :(

I love the highwaist trend. I need to get in better shape before I consider it though. I have two bikinis from Tommy Hilfiger that I go last summer that I can’t wait to get back into.

I struggle to get bikinis to fit. Im a really small bank but large cup and I’m super jealous if girls that can just pop to topshop. I’ve git a few from figleaves but Freya seem to get it right for me. Last year I also liked some if th floozue ones by frost French at debenhams. I’m currently in Sicily for my wedding anniversery. I’ve packed a bikini but so far it’s not been quite warm enough. Fingers crossed though x

I’m looking for a bikini for my holiday this year and it’s a nightmare. 32D on top, size 8/10 bottoms. I want one that ties at the back instead of having a buckle. Nothing too fancy or too plain. Impossible!

I’m the same with bikinis and big boobs, I find it so hard to get nice ones. I love figleaves too!

I would love to be bold and go out in the high waist trend but I would rather play it safe (that’s me just being boring though hah!) I love that Figleaves top and have always liked H&M swimwear for price and design. Glad you had a great time in Egypt – it looked great from the photos :) xx

Such a great post idea Mel, I absolutely adore the Topshop bikini you’ve featured but I usually need two different sizes so I don’t know whether it’ll work out for me – will definitely have to check out the Figleaves one instead.
