For those of you that ski, you’ll know what I mean, for those of you that don’t please believe me when I tell you that a solid day skiing is absolutely shattering – so after day 1 on the slopes, which is always a heavy day as you’re getting back in the swing of things, pushing yourself and buzzing off the adrenaline of being back in the mountains, when you finally call it a day extreme fatigue drains over you. You suddenly realise that every muscle in your body is aching and that actually you are totally exhausted. When this happens there are only 2 ways to resolve the situation 1) Apres Ski, 2) A Bath. And so naturally … this is what I embraced, both as a matter of fact.
The other important thing of course is getting out of your heavy, cold ski gear and wrapping up in some cosy winter wear – think big knits, cosy socks and comfy leggings. It’s crucial that you make the most of the cosy hours in the evening (post apres ski & pre the local discotheque) as a skiing holiday is quite non stop. So yesterday was our first full day skiing and I must say I felt it, so after having a cheeky beer & a wind down in the bath I wrapped up in my cosiest outfit of the moment. My new snowflake AX Paris jumper (extremely oversized) my topshop leggings and my new Mango pumps.

I managed to take these pics just before dinner (yes it was another 4 course extravaganza) in my bedroom. I had actually just got out the bath too hence the wet curly hair :) Our chalet is totally gorgeous and these pictures of part of my room really do it no justice – I was on a self timer juggling act so the comfort of my room opposed to the main lounge was my location of choice. I do have a post prepped ready to go live this week which has lots of pics from the chalet & also from our first day skiing which will give the place far more justice :) And in the mean time if you follow me on Instagram & twitter (mediamarmalade) you may have seen a sneaky glimpse of my trip already.
What do you think of my cosy apres ski outfit? Are you a skiier too, what’s your go to cosy outfit after a hard day out on the slopes or even at work?

Great apres ski outfit – I afore your jumper! I haven’t been on a skiing holiday for a few years but I can verify that it absolutely tires you out. You almost need a holiday after a skiing one to recover.
Hope you’re having a great time!

I ski too and no one seems to believe how tiring it is! I normally go back to the chalet, have a swim (reducing the aches the next day), shower, and then pop on my less glamorous apres ski socks, leggings, and cosy jumper.
Have a lovely time! This had made me very excited for my trip in March :) X

You look so cosy. I totally get what you mean about how you feel after a day on the slopes. We did our first skiing trip in 2012 (Morzine and Avoriaz) and I felt like I had been hit by a truck at the end of each day, albeit a fun and exciting truck! Lol. If you have access to a hottub I truly recommend it for pepping you up and easing your sore muscles so you are ready to hit the bars and local nightlife, it was a godsend to me. I am a new follower to your blog so I am going to read back and find out where you are rather than ask you silly questions about it in this comments blog and annoy you when you have probably written at length about it earlier in your posts. Great blog!
