. BENEFIT BEAUTY KIT .
First things first, anyone that knows me or anyone that has read my blog for a while (thank you) will know that I am utterly useless at makeup. I’m too inpatient and too uneducated to understand what works for me, how to apply the stuff I buy and just generally what does what. I stick to my favourite brands and products – Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Benefit, Mac and Clinique and have a generic makeup look which just gets up weighted or down weighted in coverage dependent on the occasion.
Whilst I’ve learnt over the years how to use the products I stick too, I still am learning day by day what works best for me, my skin, my desired look & do love to try new things. On my blog I rarely talk about beauty products UNLESS it’s something i’ve used, tested and love, which is where today’s post is coming from.
I’ve used benefit for a number of years and find their range very cool & unique (no one can beat their chilled out yet professional branding & style), but most importantly very good quality. I’ve always been a big user of their Mascara, Hoola, Blusher (Hervana is my favourite) and concealer (Boi-Ing no.2), but often like to test out the rest of their range when I can, as i’m always impressed.
This Christmas my Nana& Grandpa bought me the ‘How to Look the Best at Everything’ makeup set, something which I absolutely adore but hadn’t even asked for (Benefit does come with a price tag) which made it an even more awesome present. The set is spot on for people like me – designed to be a handy travel companion (I am ALWAYS away somewhere), covers all the vital elements for base makeup (handy) and teaches you how to apply and use it all (essential for beauty idiots like me).
The set is the full monty, covering all base makeup spectrums up to the point of bronzer / blusher, which is Ironically and handily the part of my makeup regime where I truly am awful (I never used foundation or base makeup growing up, but now my skin has been damaged by city & adult life I need a helping hand. I tend to use Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser on a day to day basis, but am yet to perfect the more full coverage / evening look). This does everything I need in a makeup kit / beauty artist / makeup adviser – it gives the the products I need to create a flawless base for nights out & days when I need some more coverage, tells me in which order I should apply them and even tells me how I should apply each element.
This kit has been perfect for evenings out or days where I’m looking for a full coverage base or a helping hand in the skin side of things. As a beauty novice I don’t want to have a zillion pots of different things, all of which cost a bomb and I don’t know how to use them or have space to carry them around on my travels, so this kit has literally not only been an amazing gift but also a little saviour & a real education for me.
So there you go, I’m sorry i’ve not reviewed each element of the package (Porefessionals, Hello Flawless, Boi-ing No.2&3 & powder) but I think the whole point of this set is that it’s the overall combination of these products that make the look. We all know benefit are awesome, and we all know foundation gives us coverage, but this product and my post as a result is more about how it can all work together to create a perfect look once we’re all told how.
What do you think of Benefit, do you use their products or have you tried this set? How do you apply your base makeup?

I absolutely love Benefit, great quality products, cute branding but also everything the brand stands for as a whole. This kit looks fab – i got the ‘Realness of Concealness’ kit for xmas and that’s another great one for a one-stop kit for prepping, concealing and highlighting!
What did you think of the pore-fessional, i’ve heard mixed reveiews?

I love benefit!! I use Boiing concealer religiously and I’m desperate to try Porefessional and Hello Flawless. Can’t afford it at the moment though as Christmas has hit my bank account hard. However it’s definitely on my ‘to try’ list. xx
