. BOBBI BROWN .
As a youngster I had surprisingly costly and good quality makeup. I’ve mentioned my for that my dad is a big fan of quality, luxury brands and as a result I always got really top notch makeup and beauty products for birthdays and Christmas a treat. Three of my most favoured brands as a result are Bobbi Brown, Mac and Chanel.
When I was a student, I used to frequently use the Bobbi brown tinted moisturiser gel. I was never a fan, nor needed to wear foundation, but was a fake tan obsessive (Bournemouth uni was renowned for this I should add). as such I always relied and lived by my tinted moisturiser – I worryingly wore the darkest shade they offer but loved how good quality it was and how it not only made my skin more bronzed but also left me more moisturised.
At uni, as I was obviously using the wrong shade, I used to mix my bronzing gel with moisturiser to lighten it a tad & make sure it didn’t looked caked on. As an ‘adult’ I’ve dropped the fake tan, and decided i’m best off buying the right colour for me, to avoid the umpa lumpa look.
. Bobbi Brown Bronzing Gel – Golden Sun .
A couple of weeks ago I picked up this product again whilst on a trip to Gunwarf Quays. They have the Cosmetics Store there which is great for picking up quality makeup products at really decent prices. Anyway, they had the lovely BB Bronzing Gel there for £14, and happened to have the product in ‘Golden Sun’, which is the other, slightly lighter colour.
I’ve worn this every day since I bought it, just over 3 weeks now, and completely ditched my foundation (this was helped by 2 weeks in the sun as it totally sorted my skin out). I absolutely love this product and it’s made me realise how much foundation just doesnt work for me. This bronzing gel keeps me skin looking fresh and healthy, and gives me a sun kissed boost. It doesn’t cover blemishes obviously, but teamed with my new fave concealer (Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer – review to come soon) it makes the perfect skin base.
If you’re looking for a sun kissed look, and a non ‘cakey’ makeup base, I really recommend this product. I’ve also heard amazing things about the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser which I’m keen to try soon too.
Have you tried Bobbi Brown bronzing gels, what do you think of this product? Which moisturisers do you live by?
