Everyone knows fashion week is extravagant, A list, and somewhat awe inspiring. But this year there was one brand that rocked the fashion world to another level.
Karl Lagerfield put Chanel at the top of the Christmas tree. Paris fashion week didn’t just have your usual glamorous cat walk with contemporary vibes and modern DJ’s, oh no! Mr Lagerfield only went and hired one of the most well established female architects, renowned for her evocative forms and designs within the architectural world, Zaha Hadid.
Chanel and Hadid transformed the Grand Palais in Paris into a nautical dream for the 2012 spring / summer women’s collection. The Chanel ocean odyssey was full of dramatic white creatures and oversized sea coral which the flow of gorgeous models strutted their way through. To top it all off the amazing Florence and the Machine was there to perform … in a giant seashell.
Surreal, yes … but Hadid and Lagerfield sure are visionary genius.
If only I could have been there in real life to experience the dream like show!
