It’s not hard to guess, but I am totally addicted to Mulberry. I do already have about 5/6 Mulberry items (bags and purses) but when I saw this years invitation to the Mulberry sample sale, I was once again creating every reason under the sun to need another bag. Although frustratingly for me, this month is a VERY expensive one, car insurance, RAC, two city breaks (Oslo and Hamburg) not to mention 2 Birthdays AND Christmas. But despite my poorness I went along today anyway, hoping for a bargain and a mystery £500 cheque into my bank to fund a new Mulberry gem.
The sample sale was held in The Music Rooms on South Molton Lane (just off Bond St), and the queues were pretty big, we had to wait for about 25 minutes to get in (this was LONG compared to last year). I must say it was CHAOS inside, far more busy than previous years I’ve been & it was pretty much a cat fight to get anywhere or get anything. Nonetheless they actually did have a fairly good selection of bags available, and a wide range of gorg shoes, accessories and clothes too. They had the trusty Alexa bag in denim, leopard and cord (personally I think the Alexa is their worst produced bag though), they had all of the Mitzy and Margaret ranges, and also lots of the new patent laptop cases, purses, diaries and mini purse bags. I spotted a couple of Bayswaters, the classic Roxanne & even the summer Taylor on sale, but you really did have to snatch up what you saw quickly.
I (SOMEHOW) walked away empty handed, this was more a sudden burst of self control as opposed to not finding something I wanted. I managed to snap up the most gorgeous black suede shoulder bag with gold chain handles which was so pretty and perfect for the Christmas season. But my severe debt and looming outgoings made me resist … I did manage to get a picci of me and the little boy wonder though. Maybe next time eh … I may persuade my boyfriend to pop to the Mulberry Factory outlet which is 30 minutes from his house in the New Year and I can treat myself then.
