Well it’s back to work we go, I hope everyone had an amazing Easter weekend and at least we only have a 4 day week to deal with. I’ve also got another week off to look forward to for my Birthday and trip to Barcelona, I’m so excited. My birthday is still just over a week away (18th) and my friend and I fly to Barcelona the following Wednesday, but both of these are keeping me going for now ;)
This outfit is casual to the maximum, and it’s also fairly ‘boring’ especially as the drizzily rain meant I had to take the photos inside. Sorry folk. But anyway, I thought I’d get my lovely burgundy jacket back out this weekend, this was the little gem / bargain I picked up in H&M a while ago. I still love it, and I decided to team it with this old stripey sailor top. Like I said, pretty boring, but hey we can’t look like an Easter Chick-ling every day right?
The good news is I have loads of new bits and bobs on their way and I’m so excited to wear them all. I still have a few of the items I bought a while ago yet to be delivered, so once they arrive i’ll be able to do some nice summery outfit posts (Ahem, weather permitting).
A little Bank Holiday Monday Roundup:
On a random note, I nipped to Superdrug on my lunch break today and managed to spend £18 on ‘stuff’. Seriously it’s lethal in there, everything is 241, half price, 3 for 2 and I am a SERIOUS sucker for a deal. I’ve snapped up a million ‘essentials’ that I don’t really need, but ahem, really will come in handy haha. But actually this’ll give a good insight into my bathroom essentials. I use Clinique anti blemish toner, cleanser and moisturiser, but for everything else, it’s pretty much this. Also, as a blondie I am always using special silver shampoo’s and colour enhancing conditioners etc to try and keep my hair nice. I’ve never tried this blonde highlighter spray before but it mentions it’s good for roots (and mine are peaking out now) so thought i’d try it as it was 50% off so only cost £4, and I love John Frieda’s coloured hair range in general so think it’ll be pretty good – i’ll keep you posted.
. John Frieda Lightening Spray £3.48 (50% off) . Batiste . Johnson’s Face Wipes £1.52 (50% off) . Hair ‘Stuff’ £3.88 (342) .
. Nivea Deodorant £0.99 (50% off) . Shower Gel £1.59 (241) . John Frieda Blonde Renew Conditioner £2.88 (50% off) .
How was everyone’s Easter break? Do you like seeing casual ‘slouchy’ outfits every now and then? ALSO – If anyone has any Barcelona tips, must do / see lists for me, please ping them my way :D

I love a good slouchy outfit – especially on miserable days like yesterday! That cherry jacket really looks great with the rest of your outfit too (I want it!) x

Lovely outfit Mel, I do like that jacket! Hasn’t been in either of my local H&M’s :(
I’ve been to Barcelona toooo many times! It’s my fave city! You should def go to the Art Museum of Catalonia, amazing views over the city and lots of photo ops, as well as amazing art of course! I also really enjoy the MACBA, even if you don’t go in the square it’s next to is really vibrant and typically Barcelonian – loads of gorgeous restaurants to people watch from!
Tibidabo is a vintage amusement park overlooking Barcelona, it’s really charming! If you’ve ever seen ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona’ it’s the amusement park from that film.
Obviously you must do the Gaudi walk as all of his architecture is so amazing, as is Parc Guell. And the Sagrada Familia and the gothic Cathedral are both breath taking!
The bars and shops in the El Born district are really fun and very trendy!
Avoid eating on Las Ramblas as the food is gross and overpriced, try walking down the sidestreets, around the squares and the food markets for amazing tapas! There is also a great bar called Margarita Blue which does mexican food and the best cocktail list ever! Not touristy at all, just full of young locals!
If you fancy hitting a club then Sala Razzmatazz is beyond insane! I’ve never been any where like it but I’ve had several crazy/amazing nights in there which I don’t think I’ll ever forget! They poster all over the city and usually have big name DJ’s on so keep an eye out!
Hope that helps x

I really hope you don’t mind, I’ve started blogging recently and am going to do a post tomorrow with a ‘Marmalade inspired outfit’ – your blog was one of the first ones I started reading and have loved it ever since, so just wanted to pay tribute really! If you do mind I can of course take it down!
