As promised guys, here’s a little post all about Richard Branson’s Wimbledon Launch party which I attended last Thursday, thanks to the lovely Lucy and Poppy at WIWT. I was super lucky to be invited, and won the invite due to an outfit I’d posted on the WIWT site (here). I’m all for a glam shindig so this event was heaven, and given it was hosted at Kensington Roof Gardens it couldn’t get much better really.
So first up, here’s what I wore to the event. This dress is my total fail safe and never does me wrong. It’s a dress I bought 3/4 years ago for my graduation from French Connection, the style is so timeless that it still makes a perfect outfit even now.
On arrival we were greeted by a red carpet and fleets of paparazzi snapping all the celeb attendees. Cocktails, Champagne, Wine and well any drink you want were given out freely all night (my sort of party). I’m used to this from work parties – the drink, not the red carpet, but I must say the cocktails were super scrumptious.
The first celeb I spoke to was Kimberly Wyatt. She attended the event with her boyfriend, and was so friendly it was totally refreshing. I actually bumped into her in the toilet, and she was happily chatting away with us :) It’s always funny meeting ‘celebs’ in real life as you just realise how normal they are :)
Here’s the lovely ladies I attended the event with. The lovely Poppy and Lucy from WIWT and my friend Zoe :) It was so nice to meet the ladies behind the WIWT phenomena and we had a fab time especially when we got wow’d by an amazing magician, who literally left me, Kimberly Wyatt and Tara Palma Tompkinson gobsmacked. He was genius.
Another celeb I was super excited to bump into, purely because I think she has fab style, was MTV’s Laura Whitmore. Again so super friendly and when I popped over to say hello she began gushing over my dress saying she’d seen me earlier and wanted to know where it was from, exciting haha. She was super pretty and looked ace with her body con white dress and bold Lulu Guinness clutch.
Kensington Roof Gardens are literally, WOW. So amazing and have a full on Morroccon theme going on outside. There’s loads of sections to the gardens that you can walk around, and each had a different bar and even one section had the BIGGEST BBQ you could imagine.
When we were strolling around the gardens we saw Ashleigh and Pudsey from BGT, Cheska from MIC, Otis from CBBC, Jenni Falcner, and a lot of Eastenders celebs.
The super friendly and happy Tara PT was happily stood chatting to us getting a magic trick done. She was so excitable and lived up to the very friendly party girl hype you hear. She was a lot of fun and totally harmless, she acted completely ‘normally’ and it made us feel like we’d been pals for years. 
Dotted around the event was Photo booths and makeup stalls. We all got a free lip gloss (the brand of which I cannot remember, doh) and canapes were served all night. Ranging from salmon parfait to mini burgers and fish and chips. It was a great selection and we totally went to town on it all :)
The girls loved seeing Scott aka Jack Branning and so we had a couple of snaps with him. I think he was loving all the girly attention :)
As the end of the night neared (2am FYI) I pumped into Denise Van Outen and her Boyf Lee Meads. Denise was getting a lot of attention as by this point we were smack bang in the middle of the mirrored dance floor. I sparked up a conversation with her over a joint love for Sugarhill Boutique :) She was really nice and looked stunning in this Whistles dress.
So all in all it was a fabulous night, wined and dined, and fully smoozed with celebs. A totally perfect night in my eyes. After a 3am feast back at my house, I was up at 8pm packing the car for IOW festival. I would say I’ve certainly celebrated my promotion in style ;0

I saw you on WIWT in the picture with Poppy and I was more star struck by you than the random man…who is Scott aka Jack Branning??? I must google. Am clearly out of touch! Looks like you had a BALL!! Well done you on getting photos with all the celebrities (I did know all the other ones:)). Looking fab as always and congrats on the promotion. You’re on a roll girl! Avril x
