On a Quest: Cream Jacket

June 24, 2012

. Zara Blazer £79.99 .
Every now and then I find myself on a quest for a new item. This month my quest turned to a cream jacket, which I surprisingly found hard to satisfy. I found a number of jackets on my way, with a perfect purchase at the end. But I thought I’d show a of my finds in case you too, are on this quest :).

So starting at the end, here’s the beautiful jacket I ended up with. This Chanel Esque jacket is a Zara piece costing £79.99. A massive amount for a little jacket, but It was just what I wanted and I’ve genuinely fallen in love since I gave in and purchased it.

* * *

When I originally started my quest I wasn’t sure if I wanted a cream leather jacket or a fantasy esque blazer, as they’re so chic and a perfect outer layer. I already have a black leather jacket and about 10 blazers in all different colours so it wasn’t like I was in desperate need of a new one, but I just wanted a little cream addition to my collection. As I wasn’t sure, I kept my options open and found some fab items on my way.

. Fantasy Jackets .
1. Zara Fantasy Fabric Blazer £79.99, 2. Zara Fantasy Blazer £79.99, 3. Mango Boucle Jacket £69.99
Here are 3 of my favourite fantasy jackets I came across (obviously I loved my one the most). Zara is sooo on this trend right now so 2 out of 3 of these are from their collection. Zara is always awesome when it comes to more classic pieces and always have a variety of styles available which I like. There’s a great variety of colours available in the Fantasy style across both Mango and Zara, I would say these two stores are best for this look right now.

. All Miss Selfridge .
1. Studded Faux Leather £57, 2. Stone PU Leather £52, 3. Tan Leather £150
I really struggled to find a nice cream leather jacket throughout my search, whether that’s because they were too expensive or not the right fit (I want a fitted tan leather jacket, not boyfriend biker), or maybe I was just too picky. However this was until my dear friend pointed out an obvious option which I hadn’t even considered (and I thought i’d checked EVERYWHERE) – Miss Selfridge.
Not only did I find one for consideration, I found 3. Crazy hey. So these are my 3 top picks in the ‘affordable’ leather jacket collection (there are tonns of beyond fabulous designer ones but no point dreaming of that). My personal preference, surprise surprise, falls with no. 3, the real leather jacket, but I do also like no. 2 which is slightly more stone washed (and a lot cheaper). I thought I’d share these finds as they really are some of the nicest ones I’ve seen around.
So there you go, a little selection of some top jackets on the high street right now. Which jacket would you pick, have you seen any other cream jackets under £150?

      Zara has nice jackets especially the tweet ones but I found their cut is more on the tight side especially at the arms, so my normal scenario would be ok at the arms big at the waist or tight at the arms and ok at the waist, as a result, I hardly buy Zara jackets. Love all the pieces and the one on you too :)

      I love the one you picked – it really suits you! I’m more scruffy than a jacket like that but I’ve been considering one because it makes you feel so pulled together :)
