It’s official, I am loving me a good shift dress right now. Having an hour glass shape, it technically isn’t the best shape of dress for my body (clings to your butt and boobs), BUT, I shan’t be letting that stop me. I’ve become a big fan due to the pure simplicity of this style of dress, unbelievably comfy to wear, super style-able and also just generally comes with no ‘self conscious’ worries (e.g. you can eat in it). This style is also perfect for UK life where we need to be able to adjust our outfits for rain come shine dependent on what life throws at us, and this style of dress is perfection for it.

The lovely Mary at Sheinside sent me this dress last week and I’ve been dying to wear it since I opened the package. I actually DIY-ed it a little to reduce the back drop and add panels to the side to make it slightly more a frame – now I say I, but I mean my mum. The dress is awesome, so simple, but with that totally chic, and I loved styling it with my beautifully bright Virgos Lounge pixie clutch and my new H&M necklace. The great thing about this dress is you can so easily dress it up or down dependent on the occasion. Here’s some of my styling ideas:

The time is nearing for me to begin packing for IOW festival & also sorting out my attire for the Richard Branson party I’m going to Thursday night. Eek. So many things to think about. Festival wise I’m thinking it’s going to be all about the layers, so i’m going to try, for once, to pack economically. I’ll keep you posted on how that goes. I think I may try and schedule a post for Saturday sharing my essential festival outfits with you all.
Do you like how I’ve styled this Sheinside shift dress? How would you wear it, answers on a postcard (or in the comments below)? ALSO if you enjoy my blog and are feeling super generous, I’d absolutely LOVE it if you’d spare a minute to nominate me for the Cosmo blog awards (here) I’d come under Best Newcomer or New fashion blog :)
