Outfit

Autumn Falls

September 18, 2012

I tried, I really did try, to cling on to summer for as long as possible. I’ve been pushing myself to wear dresses and skirts to keep my tan on display for as long as possible, but there’s only so much torrential rain and numb toes one girl can take. And so this weekend, much to my disappointment I gave in, and wore jeans. Sob. Not only that, I even wore boots & a jacket yesterday. Now this would be made so much more depressing if it weren’t for the fact that both these items were NEW.

I’ve been on the hunt for this RI jacket since before my holiday, after trying it on in Winchester I decided i 100% needed this jacket.  Unfortunately the only size 6 they had, had a sewing malfunction and so wasn’t wearable. So much to my dismay, my long winded hunt started. I re checked Winchester later that week, drove to Southampton, Checked daily online every day for 2 weeks, I checked London & phoned up RI head quarters to see if they had any in any store in the UK … the answer was No. I was gutted. Anyway, this weekened I visited my sister in Bournemouth so thought I may as well check the RI store there, but sadly no jackets in a size 6 (or anything other than a 14). I was near to giving up when I decided to try one last time and so I drove to a shopping outlet called Castle point … where the shop was just shutting.  To my extreme pleasure, they had a 6, and so after much begging they decided to let me buy it :D Apparently this jacket has seen serious distribution issues, so I feel very lucky that I’ve finally managed to get my hands on it.
. Daniel Footwear Clyde Boots £199 (C/O) . River Island Parka Jacket £55 . Zara Blouse £12 (sale) .
My other exciting new wardrobe addition, which I was very happy to arrive home from holiday too last week is these amazing leather Daniel Footwear knee high boots. I’ve never owned a pair before, and so after spending hours dreamily looking through the new Daniel Footwear look book I decided these bad boys were THE pair for me. It did take some deliberation as there are literally so many nice ankle boots, heeled boots & knee high boots in their AW12 collection, but given I’ve never owned a pair of these boots before & they were super hot, I picked these.
The boots are such incredible quality & in my opinion look amazing on. They’re leather all over, bar the back of the boot which is a sort of elastaine material, it gives the boot a really cool edge. They’re superb fitting & I’m so happy with them. Thank you Jess & the Daniel Footwear team :D
Yesterday I decided to wear them with some skinny fit black jeans, my new RI jacket & my new Zara blouse which I picked up in the sale before my holiday. I absolutely love the look (even if I say so myself) and think i’m going to be living in this outfit all winter.
What do you think of my outfit, have you checked out Daniel Footwear’s AW12 collection? I’d love to hear ideas on how you’d style these boots & what you think about my new jacket :)

Love the jacket and the new boots too! I got the Primark version of this jacket and my only gripe is that it only really looks good with a plain, dressy top underneath…anything too fussy and it looks a bit scruffy – or maybe it’s just me?! Anyway, you look fab in yours! Avrilx
