Outfit

Look Scary

October 18, 2012

I’ve been obsessing over the leather trend for some time now, I purchased a nice little leather skirt from pull & bear, a faux leather dress from RI, a parka with leather sleeves, leather boots … the list is growing but despite these little fixes there has been one thing that I’ve really really wanted ever since this trend first hit our high street.

A real leather dress.
Now, I searched around a lot, browsed the web, scowered online stores but I never quite found the exact dress I was looking for. I think this is where all my little fixes came in … trying to appease this underlying lust for a real leather dress. I wanted something fitted, but not skin tight, loose, but not baggy, quality looking, but wearable. Basically I was being pretty picky so it’s no wonder I could never find the perfect dress – that was achievable within my budget.
But then the high street made my dreams come true, River Island (who seems to be my current favourite high street store) bought out a real leather dress. Fit & Flare … almost exactly on my brief. At £120 it was a reasonable cost for a REAL leather dress, but sadly, as is always the case with amazing finds like this, it was no where. I once again searched London, Southampton, Bristol & Winchester to absolutely no prevail, sob sob sob. I was tempted to just buy online but at such a high cost I wanted to try it on first ideally.
My patience paid off … last week the dress went in the sale to £75 (i was kindly made aware of this by a lovely reader), within the space of 15 seconds I purchased the dress & to my utter excitement it got delivered this week.

. River Island Leather Dress £120 – £75 . H&M Fur Stole £12.99 . Misguided Deina Boots (old) .
Tonight happens to be the Look Scary event, it also happens to be a standard day at work, as well as a friends leaving do – so I thought what better outfit to help me transition from work, to Halloween to party than this leather beauty. So this is what I’m wearing today :) Real time blogging – POW. For the look scary event i’m hoping to buy some cat ears and go as a scary little kitten – the lamest Halloween outfit ever, but given my circumstances I feel it’s allowed.

What do you think of my new leather dress, do you prefer it to my faux leather dress I featured here? Are you going to the look scary event tonight?

I don’t mean to be picky, but these shoes aren’t your Dune wedge are they? (Mostly because they aren’t wedges!) I only ask because I really like them and just wondered where they are from if you have made a mistake :)

Also, this dress looks infinitely better on and styled than it does on the website where I must admit I wasn’t too sure about it. It looks great here though!

OOOOH, well spotted. The shoes are my Deina boots from misguided. But pretty much every online store has them on sale too x

What a find! You’re so lucky to get one – they’ve sold out in my size unfortunately. I really love your stole too – that’s made its way to my Christmas list.
