Outfit

It’s Not Darwin

November 5, 2012

Today I have the day off work which is generating much excitement in me, and to be ironic (and gleeful) I thought today I would post an outfit of something I wore to work & also to the WIWT event last week. Moohaha, just so I can celebrate in the joy that right now i’m still in my PJ’s.

This dress is something I picked up in River Island a little while ago (2 month +), it cost me £30 and was exactly what I was looking for. I’d been after a really casual, but still nice looking, black shift dress for bloomin’ ages, but I’d never quite been able to find the right one. Either they costed £200+ (ridiculous) or were just not the right shape / fit / material etc.
Anyway, when I saw this bad boy I bought it immediately. It actually got a few compliments at work too with a few of my friends buying it too.
. River Island Shift Dress £30 . Zalando Boots £100 (c/o) . Topshop tan belt (old) .
The dress is so simple and easy wearing it really makes effortless chic fairly simple. The other fab thing about this dress is that you can style it up or down dependent on occasion. For work this week I wore it with simple tan accessories – tan boots & belt. Whilst it was fairly casual styling, it made for a really good transition into going out Thurs night too (the WIWT event, and also a messy Groucho night out).
Sadly this dress has since died a death of material rippage (sob sob). Its a really fine silky material and so prone to tearing and threading. Despite this, it’s given me lots of amazing wear and I would buy it again if it were still in stock.
Today Jase and I are heading to bath for an Autumnal stroll & some yo sushi. This evening i’m seeing my dear friends for dinner & then Ben Howard in concert. So excited.
Do you like this styling for a simple LBD shift? Would you style it casually like this, or opt for a more glam look?
