Cruella De Vil has the last laugh!


Just as we thought the snow was starting to pass, the forecast comes for more :) I’m not complaining. J’adore le neige, and so today you have yet another snowy outfit post. This was taken before work yesterday as I slipped and slided my way outside to set my tripod up in the minus cold antarctic conditions – oh woe me. Anyway, cracking on, this was my outfit to work featuring some very note worth items …

First off, let’s just take a moment to stand (or sit) and appreciate these damn fine lacy shorts. Sugarhill Boutique have got it right AGAIN. I saw these shorts at the SS13 press day and instantly fell in love. I’ve got a big love for Sugarhill and have many an item stowed away in my wardrobe, I love to fill my wardrobe with their shift dresses every season, the prints are so unique and original there’s no comparison. Anyway, I fell in love with these shorts and am over the moon to now have them in my wardrobe.

These will be THE most worn item of 2013 I predict, not only did they look cute with winter tights and ankle boots, I just can’t wait to style them for summer with a cute blouse and some leather sandals. Versatile & cute.
Oh and what you can’t see in this post (sorry) … the back pockets are heart shape and made of silk. Swoon.

Secondly, I think we should all pay tribute to our inner Cruella, despite the fact she was a mean old witch, she did have something with the old dalmatian print fur thing. I went about sourcing and styling it in a slightly different manner … popped to Topshop & bought a faux (opposed to kidnap 101 dogs & attempt to skin them). But I think the jacket works well – it’s actually an old purchase, I picked this up in the sale last Christmas and saved a fortune on the original price. It was so much of a bargain I just had to get it. I’ve not looked back since & am happy to have the chance to wear it again in this nippy weather.
My final thing is my shoes, I love these Topshop Acton boots, but jesus do they kill my feet. I average 6 hours before I feel like my toes would be better off amputated than suffering the wrath of these boots a moment longer. Its a sad fact as A) I love them, B) they cost me a fortune, C) they’re perfect for all weather. My hope is that one day they’ll have been worn so much they’ll be the comfiest shoes alive. I’ll keep you posted on how this goes …

    b) I feel like giving you a huge hug because you must have been COLD as HECK without your dalmatian-y coverup. Even if only for a few seconds. Cruella ain’t got nothing on you!
