Making Something Special

January 21, 2013

The suspense is over folk, these are ‘the’ photos from this weekend that I just couldn’t get up on the blog in time yesterday. I had a play around on lightroom (a piece of photo editing software I have but absolutely NEVER use) and decided actually less is more, and so these photos despite me spending an hour playing, are effectively originals. In a couple i’ve upped the brightness / back light just so they’re clear and not too dull in colour. But all in all, I could have left them as they were and posted these yesterday :)
So this was my outfit on Saturday when Jase and I visited Kilver Court in Shepton Mallet (a cute  village with a designer outlet not too far from Bath). I was dressed up super cosy, and decided to re-wear my Jack Wills jumper. Wearing the same item of clothing 2 days in a row … EEK, Don’t shoot me!! This time however I styled it for the weekend, casual and cosy. I opted for my summer duck egg blue denim shorts from H&M and my Zara horse print blouse. I also wore my studded Zara ankle boots – BUT had I had my wardrobe to hand (I was in Bristol living out my suitcase) I’d actually have worn my Topshop ACTON ankle boots – they’d have gone much better I feel.
Oh and i’m wearing my adorable fluffy headband again – I can’t get enough of it.
. Jack Wills Jumper (old) . Zara Horse Blouse (old) . H&M Shorts (old) . Zara Stud Boots £120 .
. Fur Head band £20 (Winchester Christmas Market) . Steve Madden Bag .
Unstructured jumpers like this actually don’t really suit me, as they cover my waist and make me look quite square, but sometimes when it’s nippy noodles out you don’t really care that you look like an umpa lumpa – well at least not at the time anyway haha.
I am still loving all this snow, and having got back to London last night am loving the fact the streets are covered with 3/4 inches of pretty glistening snow. The UK is finally having proper seasons, now we just have to hope this summer is actually HOT.
I’ve got another snowy outfit post to share with you tomorrow, it’s my outfit from Sunday, and I’m really excited to share it all with you. It makes such a difference when someone takes your outfit pictures for you, i’m always much happier with the results and also the snow just makes everything so bright and pretty.
What do you think of my casual weekend snow outfit? Are you a fan of a big knit and cosy fur when it gets cold out?
