As I alluded to on Friday, today’s post features a special Jil Sander number, but this time in all it’s glory with no layers to cover the back detailing. It’s a slightly more glamorous outfit post than the norm but I was desperate to share this beautiful dress with you all.
Despite the fact this dress is super glamorous, and a perfect evening gown, I have some hopes for it to be styled a little more ‘day time’ this summer. Now I know its Jil Sander and really it should be saved for special occasions, but I’m a big believer in making sure you actually get wear out of your clothes, no matter how expensive or special they are. There’s no point investing in an expensive garment and then keeping it locked away in your wardrobe only to be worn once in a blue moon.
To that point, it’s all about the styling. This dress is naturally pretty glam, but throw your hair in a top knot, or rock some seaside waves, add some pretty summer sandals and a little turquoise jewellery and this could totally be worn on holiday or even for a nice weekend out.

Obviously while the weather is arctic here in the UK this dress will be saved purely for evening wear, but this summer I will definitely be testing out a casual beach boho look with it. This time I decided to opt for a slightly more chic look, obviously rocking my Anthropologie fedora and I decided that my leopard ankle boots would offer an edgy twist to a simple black gown, plus keep my tootsies warm.
What do you think of my new Jil Sander dress? What do you think about the styling and my thoughts on giving it a boho twist?
This dress is beautiful on you, what a gorgeous deep V back. I think you’re absolutely right, I used to have plenty of dresses that I kept for evening only and never even wore. By the time I had an occasion to wear them they weren’t even that nice anymore, so it’s all about finding ways to wear things on a more regular basis. I think it’d be perfect with some sandals, beachy hair and some turquoise bracelets, it’d look beautiful with a tan!!x

Beautiful! Because the dress itself is so simple in design, I think you can definitely style this in so many ways, either going full-on glamour or dressing it down for summer evenings. I can’t wait to see what you do with this.
