Something Kinda New …

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to pick an item from a couple of  US based designers for review. First of all fashion brand Zamrie, who actually trained with Zac Posen which is pretty cool. Zamrie designs really classic style clothing which is right up my street. This dress was an item from the new collection which I just love. A really simple, lace dress. I annoyingly wish I had a smaller size as it’s a little big on me, but I added a belt which helps give it a little shape and fit a bit better.

Second up is jewelery designer Vivienne Kelly. I’ve actually talked about this designer before when I first received my necklace, but she’s a very cool NYC based designer who produces the most gorgeous jewelery. This angelina necklace is an absolute favourite of mine. Super subtle but really chic and cute too. Finally is designer Shabana Khan, again I’ve already mentioned this designer in another post, but LA based Shabana designed this super pretty, glamorous but sophisticated bracelet (called the Doreen bracelet).

I’ve really enjoyed finding out so much about new up and coming designers, it’s really good to spread your shopping horizons beyond the UK high street sometimes, because there’s so many gems to be discovered.

I decided to style the look with a couple of my staple accessories, my Anthropologie hat for starters (we all know I am addicted to that) and second of all my chunky platform heels which give the dress a more casual grungy look (as you could totally style this for a glam evening look by adding some dazzling stilettos and a statement clutch bag). I am loving socks right now too, I have bought loads of new really cool pairs from Urban Outfitters and Topshop recently (frilly, sparkly, studded etc) and I love wearing them with ankle boots so you can just get a little glimpse (like in yesterdays outfit post too). I can’t wait for summer as i’m totally going to be wearing them all the time with my brogues / converse and pretty summer smock dresses.
