TRANSITIONING AUTUMN: ‘HEROIN CHIC’

Excuse the title, my dear friends at work have coined this look as ‘heroin chic’ after I wore it to work the other day. Not your usual smart work look, but now Autumn is sneaking it’s way in, we really do need to wrap ourselves up warm and a big, oversized knitted cardy for me, is the ultimate way to do this.

As the seasons change, you don’t want to jump straight to winter boots, thick tights and a zillion layers, so one of my favourite ways to embrace the change in weather but still keep hold of summer as long as possible is by layering up a cute summer dress with a big cosy knitted cardy.

This outfit is a perfect example of my summer – autumn transitional style. Both seriously old items (at least 4 years old) but two pieces I still love and wear all this time on. The dress is a soft white wash denim shift dress (oh how fashion comes back around) and the cardigan is a real find from H&M (it’s super soft warming wool)!  I styled the outfit with my (seriously painful) topshop ankle boots which went perfectly with the semi ‘back to school’ inspired outfit.
