FRANKLY SCARLET

I’ve been using a Clinique blended blush & Benefit’s Hervana for a long time, but more recently have upped my Mac game. I love MAC makeup but have tended to just use their bronzer products & lipsticks, but after investing in my first MAC blush a few months ago i’ve found myself wanting more.

I popped in the Covent Garen store after work the other day and instantly fell in love with this rich, deep, bold blusher … Frankly Scarlett. I loved the vibrancy of the colour and felt it was perfect for an Autumn colour pop. I’m so glad I bought it as it really is good. MAC blushers generally are very good quality and for me they’re the best to apply / blend and also wear throughout a day (they last all day on me).

This colour is very different to the last blusher I bought ‘Stay Pretty’ (see here) – but I love the depth of Frankly Scarlett and I have to say it’s hugely pigmented so it really transfers and stains the skin on application. It’s taken me a little while to learn the technique and this is a blush that has to be applied EXTREMELY lightly. The colour is raspberry stained with deep berry & delicate rose tones which makes it very pretty on the face, but very bold and heavy. I very lightly apply the powder to my brush and even more lightly then to my face, often blending with another touch of bronzer to make sure i remove and potential ‘clown blush’ effects.

 Since purchasing this beaut i’ve actually realised there is also a lot  of ‘blogger hype’ surrounding it too. Clearly a very popular product among the beauty bloggers and I have to say I totally see why. Whilst I know nothing of makeup, this is a product that I really like and would definitely recommend, particularly for this season.
