. NEW VINTAGE HOME BUYS .
I thought I would continue mixing things up this weekend, and instead of sharing a new beauty purchase i’d share a few new home buys instead. Last weekend whilst back in Winchester my sister, mum Jase and I ventured on a little vintage shopping at a new antiques market which has opened up in the area. I hadn’t gone shopping expecting to find anything but as fate would have it, I did. Picture overload, and not the best quality pics either (sorry about that, it’s a bit stormy here in the UK today), but I wanted to share my new finds with you.
. FRENCH JUG £36 . LAVENDER TABLE £18 . FALCON KITCHEN WEAR £28 .
First up is my new Paris grey ‘Lavender’ coffee table, which I hunted & haggled for a bargain £18. Would you believe it, £18 (I saved a stonking £2 off the original £20 asking price). An absolute steal & the perfect little table to fill my lounge space. Our walls are a bespoke grey wash (Jase made the colour) & our wooden furniture a mix of Paris Grey & Duck Egg blue, the table looked as though it was made for our lounge & now takes pride of place next to the sofa & is currently housing some of my new hardbacks (which I wrote about here).
The second find is one which came with a slightly higher price tag (£40) but one that Jase and I both absolutely loved, and again something which looked as though it was made to go in our lounge. Our duck egg blue french jug. I absolutely love these style of jugs & you can often hunt them down at vintage markets often for around £50-£70. We both loved the colour of this jug & decided it was a worthwhile investment. Fortunately for me I had some friends over for a BBQ in the week and they bought me these gorgeous red flowers which just looked perfect in the jug (come flower vase). I haggled the jug down to £36 and after speaking to some antiques sellers it sounds as though I got a pretty good deal.
The third vintage esque addition to our home are these super cool Falcon plates & cups. I’m a huge fan of kitchen wear (and stationary) and our kitchen is bustling with all kinds of cute and kitsch cups, plates, bowls, jugs, cups etc. But I couldn’t help but feel as though a tin mug was missing (my favourite mug to have tea in) and there’s nothing like a matching set up of cups and plates. We found these on a home wear marketstall in Winchester and I quickly persuaded Jase they’d be perfect for garden parties, bakes & buffet dinners. Luckily he obliged and I haggled the set down from £34 to £28. We’ve used them loads already & i’ve actually got a little foodie post coming soon featuring the items. It’s actually quite funny how fashions come around, Falcon is renowned for offering fisherman or campers tin plates & cups, but now they’re retro chic & adorning many london restaurant or cafe.
Finally I thought i’d share my gorgeous sunflowers, a little present from Jase & the perfect flowers to brighten up the home when we have torrential rain and thunder and lightening outside. They’re super pretty and really bring a little happiness into the room.
So there you go, a little home round up, what do you think of our new vintage buys?

These are great vintage finds! I also like to attend flea markets and find something unique and fun. There are a couple of good ones in New York, especially in the summer. I also try to find some flea markets while travelling. For instance, I visited Moscow this summer and found a nice flea market called Izmailovo. I’ve got so much cool authentic pieces!
Also, I am totally into sunflowers: I feel that they bring positive energy. Enjoy your vintage buys and sunny flowers!
