My tan has officially gone, it’s a sob story we encounter every year, gorgeous summer sunshine a getaway to tropical climates, a glowing tan to return home with, then before we know it, we’re transparent again and looking to tights & bronzer to hide the whiteness. It’s a sad time when your tan fades, there’s something about that sun kissed look which gives you a glow and an all over healthy beam which the UK and winter just can’t deliver. When I return home from holiday I bask in joy at the fact that my makeup routine is simplified down to a mere splash of bronzer / blusher and lashings of mascara. As my tan fades my tinted moisturiser comes out to play & my reliance on bronzers and other ‘shimmery’ beauty tricks increases. Anything to try and recreate that sun kissed glow.

 

This is of course where my friend Bobbi comes into play, offering up every possible makeup product to help give our skin that bronzed glowing feel & our eyes that pop that summer holidays just innately achieve. Whether its my Bobbi Brown shadow palettes, the BB cream moisturiser or bronzer collection, they deliver, and the good old shimmer brick is no different. Maybe one of my favourite Bobbi Brown products because of the ingenious design but also beautiful packaging. The shimmer brick has been a dear friend of mine for many years, usually opting for the pure blush brick which works perfectly with my caviar and classic eyeshadow palettes. But this summer as I was browsing (and buying half of) duty free I decided that i’d mix things up a little and try the combined bronze / blush version of the shimmer brick – Pink Quartz.

Giving not only a fabulous tanned look to your skin, but also a perfect shimmer which transforms your makeup from day to night in one easy brush. The shimmer brick has also been my little saviour since returning from holiday, whilst my real tan and holiday glow faded, the combination of my bronzer shimmer brick and Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser have helped give my skin a little sun kissed feel.
