STREET STYLE INSPIRED

December 4, 2014

. STREET STYLE WITH ASOS .

One of the things I love about the blogging industry and in particular the style blogging side of things is the never ending inspiration they provide. Whether it’s personal style blogs or blogs celebrating general street style, the documentation of the worlds fashion provides a never ending source of style inspiration. And not just catwalk, personal style. An individuals take on a garment, or ensemble. I for one love seeing how others work their personal style, style a garment and put together a look. Of course the likes of bloggers and brands like ASOS have been celebrating personal style for years now, encouraging and showcasing the UK’s (and worlds) most unique, fabulous & cool of personal style looks. It’s amazing how subconsciously, or consciously this celebration of individual & street style has influenced the fashion industry as a whole, but in particular my own personal style which has naturally evolved over the last few years, particularly as a result of my blog & the blogging industry.

. MISSGUIDED  SHAGGY FAUX FUR COAT c/o . TOPSHOP LEATHER TROUSERS . FRENCH CONNECTION WHITE SHIRT . ZARA LOAFERS . ASOS FEDORA .
Back when I was at uni my style was quite preppy and ‘rah’, and to be honest, I still channel this vibe occasionally within my looks, but one thing I love about my own style is how it’s evolved and become a little more brave over the years. Androgynous tailoring, bold prints & stand out ensembles frequent my personal style far more now than they ever did. Most likely inspired (and importantly, encouraged) by the documentation of street style around the world, brands pulling together beautifully styled lookbooks & other fab style bloggers, i’ve become more brave with my looks & confident in wearing what I want and what I love.
This look is something I sported this weekend & something which is a little standout, but a look I love. Simple Topshop leather trousers & an oversized FCUK white shirt (a mix of feminine & masculine which is something I really love at the moment), pointed black Zara loafers (understated footwear which I always think ‘makes’ a trouser look) and of course a statement, bold, printed fur jacket to finish things off from Missguided! Oh and not forgetting my favourite accessories too, my ASOS fedora (the perfect fedora, I currently have this in every colour) & of course Miss Celine! I really love the current ‘trend’ of outfits playing on masculine vs feminine styling and women styling men tailoring, it’s my favourite kind of style at the moment & something i’m always trying to channel into my own look. Think big oversized leather jackets & mens shirts teamed with contrasting skinnies & stilettos. There’s just something so ‘cool’ about it!!

It’s amazing to actually recognise how much my style has been influenced by that of street style & other bloggers over the years.  Can you see your style evolving or taking influence from street style?

I definitely take note of certain bloggers style – I love Pages by Megan and The Little Magpie yet they’re not usually the style I go for, they look awesome always and have accents in their clothes which I adore. There’s so much inspiration now, and ways to find new brands, we’re all evolving
