SUEDE FRINGE SKIRT

May 28, 2015

Suede Fringe Skirt

. MISSGUIDED FAUX SUEDE FRINGE SKIRT .

I’ve stepped up my commitment to suede this week, by taking the SS15 trend one step further, yes that’s right, i’ve embraced fringing. Fringing is one of those trends which looks freakin’ amazing on festival goers, lapping up the sunshine and dancing their way into the early hours at Coachella, but one such trend that sporting back in the UK (or just in general life) is a little harder to pull off and ‘work’. But when has a style challenge of that nature ever stopped me from trying (i’m forever trying out new things, and usually flopping, knee high socks i’ve learnt, are really not for me)!

. MISSGUIDED FAUX SUEDE FRINGE SKIRT c/o . TOPSHOP WHITE SHIRT . BODEN DENIM JACKET c/o . ZARA LACE UP HEELS .

When trying out a new trend that you love, but you’re not totally sure how it’s going to work on you, it’s always good to start with an affordable high street version, before committing to a more expensive or branded version. This missguided fringe skirt was the perfect stepping stone in my journey into fringing. It’s a gorgeous burnt orange colour which I absolutely love, and a real flexible material making it very comfy to wear.

I sported the look earlier this week with a simple white shirt & my new denim jacket from Boden. Given the slightly boho and festival vibe of the skirt, I added my lace up heels to finish the look off. The look is definitely ‘wearable’ and in many ways plays down the fringing making it suitable for more everyday occasions (maybe not everyday, but special occasions at least).

I really want to try teaming the skirt with a big oversized knit jumper too, with flat gladiator sandals and a simple cross body bag, i think the dressed down styling of that look would also work really well and definitely make the skirt even more wearable!

Are you a fan of fringing? Have you given it a go yet, what do you think of this look?

WOW this is such cool skirt, and I love how it matches your lipstick – that is certainly one way to rock the fringe trend
