. RUBY THE CAVAPOO .
Following on from my post a couple of weeks back when we bought our new little puppy home, I thought i’d do a little follow up, namely because now I can formally introduce our little Cavapoo to you all.
After much deliberation (and I genuinely mean MUCH) we finally agreed on calling the little lady Ruby. We had tons of names on the table, but not one we all agreed on, until Ruby. She’s such a playful little puppy that often she reminds us of a Kangaroo, springing around and bouncing up and down when she’s excited. We started calling her Roo, and soon Ruby Roo started to catch on.
She’s utterly adorable, and the best thing about her is, not only does she have a truly playful, if not cheeky side to her personality, she also absolutely loves a cuddle, she’s so small she just curls up in your arms like a new baby would and drifts off to sleep within an instant.
It’s funny having a new puppy in the family, we’ve longed for her for so long, but now she’s here it’s like she always has been. It’s hard for my sister and I who don’t live at home, I live in London and my sister is at university in bath, but it makes coming home all the more exciting. And leaving all the more sad. The first weekend was particularly sad, I even shed a little tear when I got home to London without her. I had bonded so much with her getting up at 6am as she scratched on my door, and snuggling up in bed with her to keep her calm and happy, that I was genuinely gutted to leave her.
She seems to have got used to the attention, and this weekend has spent each morning tucked up in my bed from 6am. Sleeping on my head in fact. So much for my weekend lie ins.
Raising a puppy certainly isn’t easy, i’ve long been wanting one of my own up in London, but you realise quite how much they do need 24 hour care, particularly when you’re toilet training and settling their routine. It’s just like a new born baby, and really does need dedication and time.
It’s totally worth it. If only I had the time.
We took these pictures on Saturday as we popped to winchester to run some errands, she hasn’t had all her jabs yet which meant I got to carry her around like a little baby all day. She actually just fell asleep in my arms most the time, when she wasn’t being adored by people wanting to give her a stroke and say hello.
She loves the attention. She’s currently curled up on my lap, with her paws on my laptop, blogging with me! She’s a natural.
Have you got a dog or any pets at all? I’d love to hear all about yours

Awww! Such a cute photos and your puppy is so adorable!
I used to have a german shepherd long time ago, when I was a little girl and
I basically grew up with him, so when somebody poisoned him and he passed
away I swore that I will never have another dog again, but now, that I have a
daughter and she wants to have a dog, puppy like this one would be more than
welcome. :)

Oh she is absolutely gorgeous!!
I remember when both mine were puppies – Freckles is a miniature Jack Russell and he was small enough to sit in the palm of my hand when we got him. I think after about 3 days at home he was settled quite nicely into his routine and 14 years later he’s still the perfectly well behaved sweetheart he was when we got him. Ted on the other hand is a bundle of energy and general chaos still – I think we were all up every single night with him for about 3 months after we brought him home it was crazy. He still gets up at 6am every day for cuddles but now he’s approaching 3 he’s slowly starting to calm down a bit! And now we want another! xo

Gah, she’s so so gorgeous! I totally know how you’re feeling about not being able to properly live with her – when I moved to Bath for University two and a half years ago, I think leaving my little dog behind was and still is the hardest part. The moment you’re reunited you just become inseparable again which is lovely. Luckily I’m going home for my birthday next weekend to see my little Patrick and I just cannot wait!
Enjoy all your cuddles with her as she certainly looks like the perfect little friend for some cuddles.
