SHIRT DRESS

. FRENCH CONNECTION WHITE SHIRT .

I’ve always loved the whole boyfriend shirt look, especially the oversized crisp white variety thrown on with some chunky ankle boots to create an uber laid back, effortless weekend style look. it’s often something you only in reality see in magazines or movies, but I wanted to give the look a whirl in reality too. After purchasing this French Connection white shirt at the beginning of the AW14 season I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to try the shirt dress look.

The shirt itself is of course just that, a shirt, it’s not intended ti be a dress hence it’s rather mini and a little risque. it’s longer at the back helping retain a little derriere modesty, but the front with it’s asymmetrical dip means it’s a little more daring. I went brave and opted for no leather trousers or even skimpy shorts which to be honest may have been a little too daring in hindsight. But you live and learn, and fashion is all about taking risks right?

I teamed the shirt with my Zara fur gilet (of course, quelle surprise there) and my new Zara backless heeled ankle boots which i’m just loving right now. They’re a bit of a twist on the typical ankle boot and a grungy twist on your typical heel, the edgy design really appealed to me and I’ve been wearing them a lot this last week with shift dresses, skinny jeans & even my reiss mini leather skirt. The finishing accessories were my fail safe ASOS fedora and my Celine Nano.
