SUNSHINE YELLOW SUEDE SKIRT

April 10, 2015

Yellow Suede Skirt

. SUNSHINE YELLOW VS DULL GREY .

I always find dressing in up beat vibrant colours is a sure fire way to improve an other wise dull and drizzly day. Often when the weather isn’t on my side, I find myself turning to dark colours, understated ensembles and generally just putting a little less effort into things. But actually, what I’ve started to realise is that by adding a little colour into my outfit, it adds a little bit of colour into my day! So what better way to combat a wet and overcast weather forecast, than by adding a little sunshine into your skirt.

. ZARA KNIT JUMPER . ASOS YELLOW SUEDE SKIRT . ZARA OPEN ANKLE BOOTS . ASPINAL BUCKLE BAG .

This yellow skirt is something I got a bit obsessed with when I first saw it, and actually it’s not a colour I would normally pick out of the crowd. But whether it was the suede material, the zip down front, or just the bright, vibrant yellow colour, it stole my heart from the outset.

It’s an item that come summer I’ll no doubt where all the time, teamed with a simple white tee & summer sandals, but for winter (we’re nearly out of it, hooray) i’ve opted for something a little more warm in my oversized Zara knit jumper. I wasn’t sure how tights would work with the yellow skirt (bumble bee anyone) but actually if anything it just makes the skirt stand out even more.

Do you find that colour in your outfits can really boost your mood? What’s your favourite colour to add to a look?

I’m not bold enough to wear yellow but I DO love yellow and grey as a decorating combination. For a mood boost – I’m an absolute believer and practiser of colour psychology – it’s red for me! I wore a bold red Irish Guardman’s tunic on Easter Sunday and it had be dancing on sunshine all day! x

I love your skirt – such an amazing colour! I know what you mean about colours and mood, bright colours never fail to cheer me up when I’m feeling a bit grey!
