AN EASY WORK WEAR UNIFORM
Perfect For When You’re Not Feeling Your Best (aka slimmest)
When you’re not 100% comfy in your skin you can get yourself into a real fashion rut, I’m talking from experience when I say this. I for one have been all too friendly with the oversized, loose fitting, baggy garments in my wardrobe, and indeed have found myself purchasing items on the bigger and looser side, for fear that anything touch my sides and show these newly formed lumps that have appeared over the last three years. Jase has been saying for a while that the oversized disguises don’t do me any favours, and I’m sure i’m not alone in this – Hiding your figure because it’s not quite what you’re happy with?
Well in my quest to get over the issue and buy clothes that actually fit and don’t entirely look like a sack I’ve been trying much harder to turn to my trusty favourites without worrying about the squeeze in and immediately reverting to my gigantic jumper dresses.
I’ve always loved the effortlessness of a blazer & jean combo, don’t we all? Of course I don’t quite look like the off duty models we so often see sporting a look such as this, but nonetheless it balances my needs perfectly. Straight leg jeans and a tee offer a silhouette and a classic look that looks chic for work and doesn’t look like a sack of potatoes, but with the sins hidden slightly by the oversized boyfriend blazer. A garment I wear on the daily, and realise is a slight safety blanket for me – it covers the derrière and hips and therefore instantly makes me feel more comfortable in myself. Just browse my outfit posts to see how often I bring it into a look.

This outfit is by no means anything ground breaking, albeit the blazer is new and something i’m living in right now, but it is a uniform I rely on time and time again for work and weekend wear, especially when I might not be feeling like donning skin tight dresses or figure hugging outfits. It balances the ‘cover up’ quest with the desire to still wear a nice outfit and look smart for work. Do you have a work wear uniform you go to on those occasions where you just want comfort and cover up?

I have always found cardigans to be the best allies when I look in the mirror and find myself 10 kg more XD
