As promised todays post is about my experience of LFW, and mainly some pics of my outfit from the day. I’ve actually not been to LFW before, but with an invite from New Look to attend their Fashion Week Refuel room, and an eagerness to see what Somerset House is like in the heat of LFW I booked the day off work and made my way into town.
Outfit wise, I didn’t want to pretend to be someone i’m not, so I wore an outfit like I would any other day but obviously chose one I felt good in and one I super liked. My new ASOS dress got it’s debut and I’m so chuffed I managed to hunt it down (It was completely sold out everywhere) As an FYI if you too want this dress, size down. It was surprisingly warm in London this weekend (warm for London at least) so I decided my Zara jacket would do the warmth honours with my hat offering some wind shelter (no messy birds nest hair for me). I of course, being utterly addicted, saw it as a great excuse to wear my new leopard print boots too.
Somerset House is a funny experience really, completely awash with fashionistas from around the world putting on their best (and wackiest sometimes) outfits to get noticed by the world of Fashion. There were some really nice outfits going round, and others which are designed slightly more to get noticed … not really my cuppa tea. But the mix is what makes #LFW interesting, and you find lots of street style journalists looking to get pics of all their fave looks. I got snapped 4 or 5 times on the day, no doubt looking awkward and with a big cheesy grin. But it was a compliment none the less.
So one of the main reasons I headed down to LFW was to attend the New Look Fashion Refuel room and I wasn’t left disappointed. Not only did the ‘room’ in the Waldorf Hilton do the job of refuelling – think buffet lunch, fashionista smoothies and bubble tea, it also did a whole lot in the world of pampering. IBrows were there offering full HD brow treatment and semi permanent fake lashes, there was a manicure area, a makeover area and a massage pro on hand to do 10 minute back treatments. The event was gorgeous and decorated with New Looks SS13 range (which looked ace, and I spied a few bits I really want) and fashion bloggers all venturing inside for their Fashion Week rest-bite.
The pics above are the goodies from my Goody Bag – some amazing things from the New Look makeup range including some really cool Giles Deacon & Katy Perry lashes.
I myself lapped up the smoothies, chatted to lots of people, had a mini massage and a 10 minute back massage, but most excitingly also had my browns done in HD. The team from Ibrowsetc were amazing and the treatment was done so professionally and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the results after the 7 step treatment. I was an eyebrow grooming novice but I’m super impressed with the results, they did an amazing job. I don’t have a before pic, but I can assure you they were awful haha.
The day itself is also awash with fashionable celebs and top bloggers. I only popped along for about 30 minutes but spotted Mollie King, Kate Nash and a few bloggers. I’m sure if I really paid attention and hung around for a bit i’d have seen a few more celebs and no doubt some of my fave international bloggers. But after 2 hours in the New Look Fashion Refuel room and 30 odd minutes here, my poor boyfriend was at the end of his ‘fashion week tether’ and so we headed home for a cuppa tea and mexicana night (see yesterdays post).
What do you think of my London Fashion Week outfit? Do you like what I wore? Did you attend LFW this weekend, what did you think?
