Today’s post didn’t go quite to schedule – I had some pictures of my outfit taken yesterday at Kilver Court, they’re actually not bad thanks to the glorious snow and my boyfriend taking them of me. BUT, I’ve just decided its time I learnt to use lightroom & photoshop, I have both but don’t use them. So anyway, I just spent an hour playing around, went to load my photos and decided I preferred the originals. Don’t you just hate it when that happens. Double that with a boyfriend losing tolerance of your blogging obsession, I thought it best to leave those photos for today and instead show you this casual outfit from last week.
I bought these jeans in the topshop sale for about £25 and thought that given they’re so high waisted I should one day actually wear them as a high waisted jean rather than cover them up with a big knit. So voila – here’s how I decided to wear them. It’s one of those outfits where you think you look okay, see pictures and then realise that maybe high waisted jeans aren’t for you. I styled it pretty casually as it was just a simple chilled out kind of day, but the checked shirt makes it I think.
. Cult Clothing Check Jumper . Topshop Jamie Jeans . Zalando Boots .
Anyway, I’m really hoping to take another look at my photos’ in the next few weeks. I started to think about my favourite blogs and was admiring their crystal clear clarity, vibrant colours and strong depth of field, and it made me feel a little down about my own photos. I mean, I work full time & I use a tripod at like 7am, so I really should give myself a break as it’s not like I have a full time photographer on hand – but still it’s the quest for perfection as usual. I have a really good camera, so I just want to start making the most of it more. You heard it here first!!
Today we’re going for brunch in Clifton village followed by probably what will end up being a cosy sunday cuddled by the fire eating naughty treats. I’ve got to drive back to London tonight so i’m hoping the snow won’t get much worse.
What do you think of this casual outfit with high waisted jeans? How do you style high waisted jeans. I’d love to hear your thoughts on my photo’s and any tips you have for keeping the high quality.

How can you say that your photos aren’t brilliant?!?!!??!?! They’re honestly some of the best I’ve ever seen on a blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D I admire YOURS and want MINE to be like YOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s strange how we think something of ours isn’t good enough and want it to be like anothers but then they might well think ours is better!!!! ;0)
The jeans are gorgeous but I’m not quite sure they’re for you!!! I don’t like saying this as I think you have an amazing body and could wear anything, but perhaps, this time, these jeans look better UNDER a big knit!!! :/ lol. I love the shirt and the boots though! xoxo

I understand the impatient boyfriend – Dan gets really impatient and rushy! I’m sure people think that because he’s a photographer I get star treatment, but when I ask him to take pictures for me he sighs saying this is his chance NOT to do work – And just stands there clicking the shutter button, not really being a professional photographer as he normally is haha! It must be annoying for him mind, if I had people constantly asking me for free physiotherapy when I’ve been through hell at university to get to a decent status and decent wage, I’d be a bit miffed too. I’ve just bought myself a tripod though so I’ll be joining the self-pic crew soon <3
By the way, I think your photos are lovely! I love how you take a variety of shots to really capture your outfit in full – I really struggle with that, I just don’t know how to stand! There are so many outtakes of me just doing really stupid poses and faces because I get awkward haha!! The other thing I love is how big your pictures are! I set mine as extra large on blogger but they still seem quite small? But original size is MASSIVE haha, don’t know how to get them like yours!!
<3 xx

I really like your photos. I connect more with photos that are not overly polished and professional. And by that I don’t mean that yours aren’t a good quality as they are great, extremely clear and show the outfits and you very well. What I look for in blog photos are shots that don’t hurt my eyes with too much going on or too blurry and shots that focus on the clothes. Your photos hit the nail on the head for what I like but I understand wanting to make improvements, it is natural if you are developing your blog and as it evolves. I don’t have any tips as my photos are not the best and I am really trying to improve. My aim is to get shots like yours, nice and clear and high quality showing the outfits off in a good light. I wish we had somewhere outside I could take some photos on a tripod, I am stuck with Mr Bertie begrudgingly taking them for me in the kitchen most days and once in a while outside. I need more variety I think!
The jeans look lovely on you, a lovely relaxed and casual outfit.

I know what you mean about blog envy with other people’s photography! But I have to remember I have a busy life too, I don’t know how they find the time!
P.s. I think the jeans look great!
