Today’s post is a special one, as this outfit post is part of a style challenge. I’ve seen a few of these around the bloggersphere and I’m always up for a challenge, particularly when it makes you step outside of your comfort zone a little. So the challenge was set by clothing brand Yumi, they have a great selection of pretty dresses but I was excited to hear that the dress for styling would be this polka dot midi dress. I’d actually spied it in look magazine a couple of days prior too :)

So the challenge was this: Style a look for the office.
Given that I work in an office, and most my wardrobe tends to be styled for work I was up for the challenge. My biggest (perceived) difficulties were in styling the colour orange and also the midi length skirt. Followers of my blog will have seen my attempts at midi dresses so far, I’ve tried darn it, I really have, but I still wasn’t sold that they were ‘me’. Anyway, this dress was a worthy midi length contender, so I gave it another bash. I teamed the dress with black accessories (despite fearing looking like a bumble bee) as I felt the Mulberry bag, Marni heels and black woven belt would really smarten up the outfit and make it perfect officewear. I think it works, although I must admit I truly am useless at colour coordination, haha.
