Giorgio Armarni: Eyes to Kill

Every now and then a new product crops up in your life, one that revolutionises and revitalizes. Welcome Giorgio Armarni – Eyes to Kill.

This eyeshadow is a new one on my radar, introduced and gifted to me for my birthday from my Aunty. I’d actually not even been aware Giorgio Armarni produced makeup until this point. Boy I’d been missing out.

I’m a HUGE wearer of subtle smokey eye shadows, particularly bronze colours. I tend to use clinique eye shadows the most at the moment, but recently opted for a gorgeous bronze Bourjois one I was sent. However I now have a serious contender to add to the collection.

This shadow is a serious player. Not only is the packaging sharp with an armoury edge that just oozes ‘make way’, the actual product itself is in-CRED. Okay so where to start, the eye shadow is packaged in a glass pot with a black screw lid, the product branding is almost a mirror effect which I love. The shadow is protected with a black ‘plunge’ lid, as the eye shadow itself is a rather ‘rough’ powder, the lid ensures no spill or wastage.

Now I mentioned the product is a rough powder, by this I mean it’s not your seriously compact powder shadows, nor is it a cream shadow, it’s almost a middle ground player. I think this is mostly because of the blend of colours and the density of these colours within it, theres a gorgeous mixture of gold, black and burnt bronze particles which are blended together to give this awesome textured blended eye shadow pot.

On first glance the colour appears ‘ashy’ a little like a volcano, but once you’ve gently dabbed your brush (and I seriously mean GENTLE – you don’t need much) and applied it to your eye it instantly blends to create the most sultry, vampy smokey eye look. The shadow has a slight shimmer to it from the gold pigmentation which really gives it a glam edge and makes it perfect for either a subtle smokey look or a rich, glamorous evening edge.

In terms of cost, I’ve had to research as this was a present, but it appears to retail at around £27. Expensive, but from my experience thus far, well worth the money and a very high quality product. My Aunty has been using this shadow for years and tells me due to the density and richness of the colour, you barely need to use it to create a bold effect, which means each pot lasts an age.
