So here it is, and I must say despite my initial disappointment when opening my package, since trying it on and giving a little style overhaul – I took off the belt it came with and teamed with my own accessories, I actually don’t mind it so much after all. It’s definitely a dress I’d save for evenings out, as I fear if I attempted to dress it down I could look quite gothic, but that may just be because I need some ‘day time look’ inspiration.
Have you got any tips for dressing velvet skater dresses down? How would you wear this look? Also, have you ever bought from pop couture, how was your experience?
I really like the colour of this dress, but like you it isnt a colour I would normally pick. It does look lovely on you though! xx
its really cute – ive got a black and red velvet dress the same, ive worn the black once and the red ones got the labels on – had to buy them tho ;)

I have a velvet skater dress from Topshop and i usually just wear it with a cardigan/long blazer with layered jewelry! I also have a post on my blog – rachelpan – featuring Pop Couture, i have a few items from them and they’re all so nice.

I’ve seen a few people with similar dresses and for day time looks they’ve added a little knitted jumper so it looks like a skirt, and then wear tights and boots! It really tones the velvet down a bit :) I think the purple suits you though with your blonde hair! Xxx
It looks gorgeous on you, honestly! I don’t have anything velvet in my wardrobe, maybe I need to! x

It actually looks great on you! The dress is one of those unique pieces that not everyone has and/or can wear.

I also do not wear purple and dislike the feel of velvet! But I must say you’ve worn it beautifully and subtly ( without looking at all gothic). Looks lovely xxx
