Outfit

She’s Urban, No?

March 15, 2012

There’s nothing like mixing the old with the new to pull together a new little outfit combo. This Urban Outfitters dress is mega old, I mean multiple years old. It’s also super short so lord knows how I used to wear it without leggings. Anyway, I’ve always liked this little dress although my major issues with it are a) it’s super short, b) it’s see through, c) it has an amazing open detailed back which makes it near impossible to wear a bra with (NB: see note b = SEE THROUGH). So basically it’s a little bit of a nightmare to wear to it’s full potential.

. Urban outfitters Cream Doll Dress (old) . Bershka Blazer . Missguided Heels .
. Topshop Jodhpurs . Usual Jewellery . Old Emerald Suede Belt .
In order to overcome the whole see through thing I usually just wear a little Topshop vest underneath it and team the dress with a blazer / denim jacket (in the summer) to cover up the back (it’s ruined once you wear a top). It’s actually a really comfy casual outfit and I love finding a new way to wear it. This time i’ve teamed it with my new Bershka blazer and Deina heels, with my trusty jewellery and this super old emerald green belt.
Damn those friggin’ socks again. These jodhpurs are hell bent on ruining every outfit I wear them with. Note to self: Buy black socks / Get new leggings.

I also had a little lunch time treat a few days ago and got my nails done. I went back to my favourite cute little nail parlor (as featured here). I usually go for OPI purely as I love the shades they have, but decided to mix it up and went for Essie: Silken Cord instead. It’s a lovely rouge / coral colour and I thought it was a pretty spring colour (I am being optimistic I know). My nails are finally pretty again and the polish is lasting really well.

Have you got any golden oldies in your wardrobe that you reinvent every once in a while? Do you have any tips on helping me solve my ridiculous sock issues haha?

I love this outfit, such a shame about the difficulty wearing it – But you look great! Do you find the vest top underneath often rolls up? So annoying!

I have so many dresses that are the same, and like you I look at them now and wonder how the hell I ever had the courage to not wear leggings *cringe* but now I just have to layer them up, kinda ruins the point eh?

Glad you still find ways to wear it – it looks gorgeous on you! You can pick up black socks really cheap in M&S/Primark, I’m always wearing ankle socks, probably in denial about my age xxx

I have a couple of dresses like this. Gorgeous back detailing, but I can’t not wear a bra as I’ve a large bust! Pains me to have to cover the pretty back up as otherwise you can see my bra. Shame! Lovely outfit :)
