No But’s, Inspire Me.

March 14, 2012

Back in the day, pre blogs and seriously fast speed online broadband, style inspiration wasn’t so readily available at your finger tips and I don’t feel it was quite so ‘prominent’ in everyones lives either. Whilst I now get inspiration from a huge variety of sources and don’t solely search it out (it’s thrust upon us) 7/8 years ago when I was at college it was a different story. As a teenager my main source of inspiration was celebrities that were featured in gossip mags and women’s lifestyle titles, as I had a huge hunger for fashion and celebrity style I would end up spending £20 a week on magazines just to feed this interest. And the place for holding all of this inspiration was my bedroom wall. I had an entire wall dedicated to Chanel ads, magazine cut outs, celeb style photos, and clothes I was desperate to have and be able to afford. The benefit of modern society and the wonderful WWW is that I can have my very own little fashion ‘magazine’ (well, online blog) to house and share all my favourite clothes, style inspiration, product lusts and aspirational ads.
For this post I decided to go back to my roots a little and show you some of my ‘clippings’ of inspiration that i’ve been storing up. It’s my Birthday coming up soon, so these are a few goodies I’ll be putting on my list.
. French Connection Sequin Dress . Gold Stack Rings . Zara Aztec Skirt . Marni & H&M Shoes .
. Forever 21 Necklace. Mango Faded Aztec Jumper .
But it wouldn’t be right if I also didn’t include a couple of my online ‘cut out’s too, that’s the beauty of this day in age, there’s so many opportunities to seek fashion inspiration and find out about new products and clothing ranges, why not lap them all up. I sure am.
. Zara Combined Print Dress £49.99 . Asymmetrical Hem Dress £29.99 . Draped Dress £25.99 .
I am mega impressed with Zara’s SS12 collection right now and there are a million things I am lusting for from their collection. These are the top of my Zara hit list & I will be tracking them down immediately.

On another note here’s a little bit of life inspiration with some snaps of what I’ve been up to outside of work this week so far :) I had the most fab dinner last night at the Riding House Cafe by Great Portland Street, the food was amazing and my friend Zoe and I had such a fab night. Expensive but well worth it :)

What do you think of my inspiration clippings, do you like these dresses too? How do you get fashion inspiration?

This is such a lovely post! So different, I still get inspired by magazines, aside from blogs, I sometimes find the WWW just a little too much.

It’s sometimes nice to downsize and pick a few trends to work with. Whilst sticking to your individual style of course!

I’d love to see more posts like this :)

Hey I absolutly love Zara, it’ become one of my go-to shops over the last couple of years. their collections are straight from the catwalk but at affordabe prices :) I have the first dress in your wish list, but there’s another oe that’s longer that I couldn’t resist either, I styled it in three different ays here:

I love to pull all my cut-outs together in a giant sketch book, add to it all the time…it;s a bit like a story of my style I guess. Great post :)
