Outfit

As Simple As That

August 24, 2012

Today is a day of excitement, it’s my last day at work until 12th September, now that’s what I call a summer break :) My flight to Turkey is actually Tuesday, but what with the bank holiday this weekend, it’s made for an extra long summer holiday for me. I’m pretty much packed as I’m leaving London today, and have WAY too much stuff already, and I’ll be spending the next three days at home celebrating my mums birthday and my sisters departure to uni. So yes, exciting times all around. But in honor of my last day at work, I thought i’d share a chic smart (ish) outfit I’ve recently pulled together.

When I bought my AA disco pants, one of the first things I wondered is whether you’d ever be able to style them in a way that made them suitable for work. Now I had a think, a loose chiffon blouse styled with chunky jewelery, a smart blazer and long tunic would work too. But when I got this top from Lavish Alice, I also thought it could make for a slightly more risque smart look, really showing off the pants at the same time.
. Lavish Alice Peplum £21 (C/O) . AA Disco Pants £70 . Marni HM Heels . H&M Earings (old) .
I have a couple of peplum tops now, my all time favourite smart white Zara one, which really is good quality and looks fab on (very smart & chic), second is my grey Topshop peplum, which is very thin and made of tshirt material so makes for a much more casual styling, and now this Lavish Alice one, which is sort of a mixture of the two. I love the cream colour tones, it’s not a colour I often wear but it looks fab with some smart black jeans (or in this case disco pants). The material reminds me of a wet suit, I also have a Zara dress made of the same stuff, and it’s great as it means it has quite a firm structure and smoothes out any areas you want hidden. It’s a perfect length too, not too short so as the peplum pings out in the wrong place, that looks not good for anyone :)
So yes, there you go, I’m still not 100% certain it’s really work appropriate (the pants that is) but styling it with a smart and chic top like this does make the look overall look professional with a little touch of glam.
How would you wear this cream peplum top? Have you tried styling AA Disco pants for work, let me know what you wore?

I love your hair in this, I found a top like that in Top Shop, in floral print though, I wasn’t sure what to pair it with as I find on me, it looks weird with jeans :) xx

ur beige peplum top is soooo chic! :D Btw, I’ve recently begged a very provoking question on my blog that whether or not you think men are emasculated if they were to wear platform shoes, do you agree?

The sixth photo looks smudged at the crotch. Did you have a camel toe in that photo? leave it cause it’s sexy
