Outfit

Deep Blue

August 22, 2012

If you follow me on twitter (mediamarmalade) you may well have noticed my little lunch time shopping trip yesterday, whereby I nipped along to Zara in my lunch break and snapped up a skirt i’d been lusting after for a little while. I originally tried to resist this at the weekend, but after staring longingly at it online I decided I may as well just go and get it … i gave myself the excuse ‘it’s for holiday’. Works for me.
I absolutely love this skirt, the embroidery detail is stunning and the colour combination is so vibrant and reminds me of the seaside & blue skies. I was completely drawn to it, and after purchasing I was so happy I gave in to temptation. So excited in fact that I’ve already worn it :)
. Zara Blue Embroidered Skrit £29.99 . Zara Ankle Boots . H&M Vest Top . Primark Necklace .
Given the skirt is so statement in it’s own right I decided to go for a really simple cream tunic & tan ankle boots. These boots are an old Zara purchase of mine, and I rarely wear them these days but I loved the whole boho style they created when styled with my new skirt (swoon, I love it). The skirt is fairly rigid in shape which I actually like, so there’s no body con conscious-ness as it’s actually very thick and relatively A shape. It also has leather rimming along the top which I think it’s a lush little touch.
I’ve also been lusting after a sequin mini skirt for absolutely ages, but resisted for two reasons, a) price, b) the lack of places to wear it to. With this skirt, as it’s a little less dressy, it’s 100% perfect for holiday & summer but I also love the fact that it’ll make a lovely Autumn outfit styled with black tights. Basically it’s awesome haha.
What do you think of this new Zara embroided skirt & how I’ve styled it? How would you wear it?

I love the print on the skirt, I’d wear it exactly like this with a simple tee :)

Spied a gold sequin skirt in H&M at the weekend and also resisted as I don’t think I have anywhere to go EVER that would require such a sparkly skirt!

      This is gorgeous!
I’d probably wear it with black tights and a grey, fine knit jumper for autumn :)

So pretty, I actually thought it’d be a lot more expensive than £29.99, at that price you really did well by not resisting temptation! x

I love it, perfect for holiday, but also easy enough to dress up to go out, or dress down for the daytime – much more versatile than a sequin skirt and therefore a total bargain! :)

This is a beautiful skirt, it really suits you. I’d probably dress it up and wear it out, probably with a black top & heels :) x
