When summer draws to an unwelcome end, or when summer proves not to be summer after all, I always struggle to accept that I have to wrap up in a zillion layers and put my summer purchases to the back of my wardrobe. Sob Sob Sob. This Summer has been particularly saddening as we’ve not really had a constant flow of summer sunshine & beautiful weather to allow us to rock our summer essentials, however, I’ve decided not to let this defeat me, and so I’m now going for the transitional look, to cling on to my summer clothes that little longer but without freezing my tits off.
So I featured this skirt on my blog last week, a Zara bargain & an item i’d been lusting after for quite a while. The only problem is, swiftly after purchasing it, the sun decided to disappear. damn it. But as mentioned, I haven’t let this stop me. So for this outfit, I decided i’d wear my skirt to keep summer alive, but team it with a super cosy warm knit jumper to make sure I was suitably dressed for this crazy ass weather.

I always admire girls who layer things so casually, the whole loose, flowing, effortless look, which always just looks so perfect yet effortless. Cue Sincerely Jules, The Olsens etc … they do this look to perfection. Anyhow, this was my little attempt to achieve the style myself. As I mentioned in the other post when I wore this skirt, it is actually quite loose & so teaming it with a casual dip hem knit jumper sort of worked quite well. I added my new heels from Runway Shoes to give it a little classy edge, any excuse really to whip out these bad boys.

I love this look, and think you’ve captured the layering style quite nicely! I know what you mean though, some people seem to be able to absolutely throw together an outfit and still look amazing and chic – pft!

I don’t even think we can call the season we just had summer at all. I dont I’ve ever looked forward to Autumn this much. This is a very inspiring outfit as I have a similar jumper and I now have another way of wearing it. lets make the most of this not so hot yet not so cold weather before the freeze comes along.

Love putting sweaters with bare legs, great transitional outfit indeed. I’ve been wearing my grey slouchy Topshop jumper with bleached denim shorts and it somehow looks really nice as well as keeping me a bit warmer! Cx
Beautiful outfit, I love the skirt :)

I always feel a bit weird when I read everyones stories about ‘putting my summer clothes away ready for winter’.. because i’m that person who doesn’t have two separate wardrobes! I just wear my summer dresses with tights and jumpers (and then pay for it when i’m freezing my breasticles off!)
BUT enough of my breasticles stories, hello if you were an ice cream i would eat you right up. yummy scrummy x
Ciao/Hello there…Love this Post…Your Outfit is Perfection!
