Jekyll & Hyde

September 6, 2012

As you may well have noticed, I am obsessing over Zara’s new collection at the moment. Over the last year their range has gone from strength to strength, totally encompassing the hottest trends and offering us the best of the high street at unresistable prices. This for me, has been a huge issue, I’ve spent a small fortune in Zara recently, but I must say every item I’ve purchased has been worn through and through and always been an absolute favourite.
The best thing about Zara’s collections for me, is that is caters for my alter ego’s … well not quite alter ego, but definitely my different styles. I wouldn’t really categorize myself into any particular trend or style (albeit I tend to wear things in quite a preppy way I think), and I can quite easily be donned in leather and killer heels one day, and then a cute dress and blazer the next. And this is why I love these collections, they always offer the edgy & the cute, the masculine & the feminine within all their items.
Which leads me neatly on to this post … here are my favourite items from Zara’s fall collection … completely demonstrating a) my split taste and b) their jekyll & hyde styling.

I absoultely love peplum tops, as a girl with a feminine shape (e.g. boobs, a waist and hips), these tops are a great flatterer, showing off the waist line and skimming over the hips. I’ve already got a small collection going on, but I absolutely love both of these contrasting peplums. The feminine cream peplum would be perfect with a pair of pastel jeans and sandals for work, whilst the leather one would look stonking with some killer heels for a dinner date. I actually want to get myself both of these aaaaa-SAP.

This pearl skirt is a firm favourite of mine, after doing a spot of shopping the other day I was massively magnetised by this. The pearl detailing and ultra chic cut is soooo my cup of tea. The only thing that stopped me whipping this up was the £70 price tag and the lack of places to ever wear it to. The leopard pants speak for themselves, how flippin’ cool are these bad boys. I won’t ever buy them, nor ever wear them, but I will forever admire from afar and be jealous of the girls who can rock this look.
Ankle boots are another of my ridiculous obsessions, I have the most stupid amount of ankle boots, all amazing and all items i’ve longed for and saved up to by, but still, a girl can have too many shoes? or not, that’s ridiculous, of course we can’t. Anyway, if I were in the market for ankle boots, these would be the two I’d purchase. I am loving stud ankle boots and nude, and the fact these offer both is just a dream combo, if I hadn’t alreadyn purchased my black stud boots I may have considered getting these. As for the leopard print ones, as above, these are freakin’ hot, and would look killer with some skinny jeans, but I’m just not sure i’m quite there in the courage steaks to embrace them.
My final picks are a little out of ‘theme’ and combine a playsuit and a leather jacket. This playsuit is another of my fave items, and also featured in my September wish list. I love the cut, the print, the colours and the general style of this, it’s quite ‘fantasy’ and I love the angelic colour theme. In complete contrast I love the edgy studded leather jacket trend that’s embracing our high street right now and this one is definitely high on my favourites list … real leather and a feminine cut, it’s definitely something i’d like to adorn myself with.

And …. breathe. That’s a wrap. My potential Zara haul will probably set me back about £500 (min) but god damn i’d look good haha.

What do you think of my little Zara wish list & my contrast in style? What are your favourite items on the high street at the moment & do you have a Jekyll & Hyde side to your style?
