Three things I never before owned, but since investing in, just cannot live without. My camel suede Anthropologie hat which I picked up in NYC this year, my faux fur stole from H&M and finally my brown leather jacket. Alone they’re amazing, but together, well I’ve fallen madly deeply in love.
I’ve always been a huge fan of fur, I have a few faux fur coats, gilets, hats and loved my Gina Tricot fur stole too. However sadly I lost this a year or so ago on a night out, sob, and just couldn’t find a replacement anywhere. But then this year I saw H&M release this fur bad boy, and I immediately hunted it down and think I’ve worn it pretty much every single day each since.My hat is the sort of item i’ve admired from afar but never quite got the courage to purchase and style myself. I’ve lusted after many an outfit featuring a beautiful hat, and so when I found this one in Anthropologie in New York there was no question whether or not i’d buy it. After all when you’re buying in a foreign currency, it’s not like your spending real money is it. Ahem.
A leather jacket is a wardrobe staple of mine, I’ve worn them for years and with pretty much everything. I love them with a little day dress especially, they just add a cool edge to a simple dress. Despite wearing my black leather jacket to death, i’d never actually tried on or bought a brown leather jacket until I got this one. This was actually a gifted item as part of Project Take 10 – I picked this from the Next AW12 collection and haven’t looked back since. Brown leather adds a little quirk to the standard leather jacket & I like it for a more casual & rustic look.

The accessories are the ‘piece de resistance’ in this outfit and so a simple dress was all the outfit needed. This is a dress I got from Sheinside but had my mum redesign for me. The dress was originally quite fitted and had a super long back, so my mum shortened the back and added side panels to create a black shift style dress. I love it since it’s been DIY’d and think it’s perfect for a simple chic look.
