Outfit

Not The Usual Ensemble

January 28, 2013

I love it when you try something new, and end up thinking ‘why the hell have I never tried this before’. Its a revolutionary experience that sets to change things monumentally. Okay, so that may be a bold statement, but I recently tried something new, something I wouldn’t usually go for, and ended up falling in love. I will no longer be instantly dismissing this dear thing, now we’ve kindled our love and built the foundations for a lasting partnership.

I’m actually talking about v neck crossover dresses, so perhaps not a kindled love affair and happy ever after. BUT an item of clothing I’d always dismissed, a style I’d never consider, and a neck line i’d never be seen dead in. Well oh how things can change.

I got this dress quite recently, and there was something about it that just drew me to it. I decided to go with it, leave fate to do it’s job. If it was meant to be, it was meant to be.

. Red Label Dress £17 (c/o) . Anthropologie Fedora .
What would you know, I bloomin’ love it. As soon as I put it on I realised that actually the cut is probably made for figures like mine, hour glass shapes and people with a waist, hips, butts and boobs. I really liked how it cut on me and the dress itself is mega comfortable. To ensure people still recognised it was me I added a waist belt (my go to) and my new fedora, which lets face it, I would wear every day if I could.
So there you go, I tried something new and it paid off :) Why don’t you try something new this week, and see where it takes you (let me know of course).
What do you think of my new crossover dress? Are you a fan of this style of clothes? I’d love to know what you think?

Oh it’s absolutely lovely on you! And I can’t get enough of that hat, it’s wonderful! I love v-neck wrap dresses but I find they’re usually a bit too low cut for my chestiness so they are something I usually covet from afar! xo

This really suits you lovely – I would never think to try a wrap dress as I always pigeon hole them as a little mumsy but this has changed my mind completely. Good job!

I love that feeling! I always feel really thrifty when I put together a completely new outfit out of items that already exist in my wardrobe. I love this dress though, it’s absolutely perfect for you. I’m the same – I used to think that wrap dresses for more for my Mum than me but they’re really flattering! I love the long sleeves, too x

I love this dress, the wrap style is something I’d normally stay away from too, but the style at the bottom makes me love it. and the way it can be dressed up or down.
