Outfit

Season Swaps

January 30, 2013

When it comes to fashion, being a girl is great. We have so much choice, versatility and the luxury of having a million brands offering us on trend, affordable and quality clothing. We also have an excuse when it comes to shopping – playing to stereotypes of course, but why not make the most of it. I personally love being a girl, mostly because I love clothes, styling outfits, getting dressed up, buying a new skirt, getting my hair done, buying my dream handbag. Really we have a lot to grateful for in the fashion steaks, and so we should make the most of it right?
The only downside of this time of year is that we’re broke from Christmas (at least I still am anyway), but it doesn’t stop my obsession with treating myself to new things. I am currently desperate for a pair of leopard print ankle boots, the same pair I posted about back in September. I really have waited long enough now I feel – So I’m currently on the hunt for a voucher to help me save some pennies, there’s nothing better than a cheeky 20% off. I’ve been scanning netvouchercodes* daily as they have really good discounts across fashion and high street clothing brands (well worth checking out if you need a discount code). They have discounts for brands like AX PARIS, Kurt Geiger, Urban Outfitters etc.

. Zara Embroidered Skirt . Zalando Chelsea Boots . Mina Blouse .
This skirt is something I fell in love with and picked up last summer in Zara. I originally bought it for summer, but have recently started styling it more for winter. It’s surprisingly easy to transition your seasonal clothes, mostly with accessories and layers. Add a simple pair of ankle boots, a leather handbag, thick tights or a cosy knit jumper and you can instantly transform  a look from summer to winter.
I think this skirt is the perfect example of a (technically) summer garment,  styled slightly differently for winter months. I added a pair of thick tights (can’t live without them in winter), a cute peter pan collar blouse (From Mina) and my Zalando ankle boots and voila – the skirt is suitable and styled for this time of year. A fur coat would naturally be the final addition :)

What do you think of my outfit, are you a fan of adapting your summer clothes for winter wear?

Love how you’ve styled the Zara skirt with a cute peter pan shirt tucked in. I dug the very same skirt out after your last post about wearing it with a jumper so I may just have to try this look too.

I really like how you have worn this skirt with tights and boots and made it into a winter outfit. It looks lovely. I am trying to mix a few of my summer pieces up to make them winter appropriate but am struggling, I think I have managed it with two outfits so far all winter!

I pretty much just throw on thicker tights with all my summer gear, with a few exceptions! Not only are we lucky to be women, I also consider myself lucky to be in my 20s- the age at which I can wear anything I like! x

My summer wardrobe is pretty much my winter wardrobe without tights!
