I’ve been mixing things up a bit lately and venturing outside my comfort zone a little. For example I’ve never really been a fan of midi length dresses. I’ve bought a couple midi dresses in the past, always hoping I’d look good in them, and have always been mildly disappointed at how much they just don’t suit my figure. Anyway, I thought I’d try it again, but this time opting for a slightly shorter midi and a fitted cut too – I think it’s the more loose, floaty ones that just don’t do me any justice.
So this dress is one I picked from AX Paris recently, I was really drawn to the grey marl colouring and loved that it was a really casual material but looked as if it could be styled up or down dependent on accessories. Boy was I chuffed when I received this – the dress was perfect, I love the high neck, the tanked sleeves and the length of the dress (more knee length). Also, because of the loose (kind of knitted) material of the dress, you can sort of pull it up or down to shorter / longer without it really noticing. Handy.
. AX Paris Grey Marl Dress . Zara Leopard Print Ankle Boots . Topshop Leather Jacket .
. Anthropologie Fedora .
I’ve worn this dress so much in the last couple of weeks, it’s become a staple outfit for me. I’ve styled it more casually than this for a weekend look, think big knitted cardy and little ankle boots. I’ll be showing that outfit on here soon too. But last week I decided to give the dress an edgy style, and added my leather jacket & leopard print ankle boots (of course)., oh and my fedora. My dad and boyfriend keep joking that I literally live in this hat these days. It’s become an obsession. Eek.
I also received some of the most amazing treats from Stanwells ReRun last night – a designer vintage shop in the UK, and I cannot wait to share them on my blog. Think backless Jill Sander dress, J Brand Jeans … swoon. I also got a super cute hand made necklace from Dandy Rocks & a cute Lavish Alice dress for spring. It was a good delivery day :)
What do you think of this midi dress and how I’ve styled it? Are you a fan of the midi length dress – how would you style it?
